GameDay Preview
WAVERLY, Iowa —
Kaitlin Kling (LeRoy, Minn.) was good in her first two rounds of the spring season for the Saint Mary's University women's golf team last weekend at the Augsburg Spring Invitational.
The Cardinal sophomore was even better Saturday afternoon.
Kling—who put together rounds of 91-95—186 at the Augsburg Spring Invitational—shaved five shots off last weekend's low round, shooting an 85 to lead the Cardinals to a ninth-place showing after Day 1 of the Wartburg Spring Invitational.
Madison Gately (Glenview, Ill.) finished with an opening-round 95, while
Tiarra Thompson (Jonesboro, Ga.) and
Michaela Heuckendorf (Plymouth, Minn.) added rounds of 110 and 112, respectively, to round out the Cardinal lineup.
Saint Mary's will return to Prairie Links Golf Course on Sunday for the second round of the 36-hole Wartburg Spring Invitational.
