WAVERLY, Iowa — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's golf team is back on the links this weekend, heading to Prairie Links Golf Course to take part in the 36-hole Wartburg Fall Invitational.

Kaitlin Kling (LeRoy, Minn.) carded a career-best round of five-over-par 77 during the first day of the Saint Benedict Invitational last weekend. Kling's career-best effort was just three shots shy of the school record 74 shot by Andrea Hanke at the Luther Invitational during the 2004 season. … Kling's opening-round 77 was four shots better than her previous collegiate best round of 81. …
Madison Gately (Glenview, Ill.) followed up her opening-round 99 with a second-day 96 for a 195 total, while
Ana Reding (Stillwater, Minn.) fired rounds of 97-100—197. …
Tiarra Thompson (Jonesboro, Ga. / 100-102) and
Grace Gillis (New Ulm, Minn. / 108-106) rounded out the Cardinals' lineup at Saint Benedict. … With her rounds of 77 and 88, Kling has now shot 88 or better in 12 of her last 13 competitive rounds. … As a team, the Cardinals finished with a 367.5 scoring average a year ago, which ranked No. 2 all-time in program history. … The Cardinals' 701 (353-348) at the Luther Invitational was a two-round school record, eclipsing the old mark by seven strokes.
