MANKATO, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University track and field teams have just one indoor meet on their schedule before the Christmas break — and the Cardinals made the most of it.
The Cardinals — behind performances from
Tyler Amy (Chatfield, Minn.), Sean Curran (Appleton, Wis.), and
Christian Beamer (Two Harbors, Minn.) — posted three top-five finishes at the Minnesota State-Mankato Invitational.
Amy uncorked a throw of 13.82 meters to place fourth in the shot put, while Curran — make his collegiate debut — added a fourth in the weight throw (14.10m), and Beamer delivered a fifth-place leap of 1.95m in the high jump.
Jacob Homan (North Mankato, Minn.) chipped in an eighth in the shot put (12.34m), while Boone was ninth in the 60 (7.41) and
Frankie Bakalars (La Crosse, Wis.) was 11
th in the weight throw (11.69m).
Cole Hagen (Shakopee, Minn.) delivered a jump of 5.50m in the long jump for the Cardinal men, while Sydney Klausler (Lakeville, Minn.) stopped the clock in 8.32 in the 60 for the Saint Mary's women.
The Cardinals are now off until Jan. 18, when they return home to the Gostomski Fieldhouse to host the annual Cardinal Early Birdinal.
