Track and Field Receives Conference Recognition

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2026 award recipients for outdoor track & field on Thursday.

The Saint Mary's track and field program made their mark on awards this post season

A total of 10 Cardinals received All-Conference recognition for their performance last weekend. 

Samantha Munson and Mya Slavin each earned two All-Conference awards. Slavin placed first in the 800-Meter with a 2:10.85 time before racing to third in the 1500-Meter run with a 4:38.86 time. Munson placed first in the 200-Meter dash with a 25.22 time and a runner up time in the 100-Meter dash with a 12.11 mark.

Both back-to-back champions.

Placing first in that event was teammate Zari Young who is the reigning champ from a season ago in the 100-Meter with an 11.93 mark this season for another All-Conference honor.

Earning her first postseason award is Isabella Schei who had a record throw of 37.55m in the Javelin Throw. To round out the All-Conference awards, the women's 4x100-Meter relay had a run of their own, Young, McKenzie Munson, Jossy, Saamanen, and S. Munson ran a 47.43 time.

Four events earned Honorable Mention at the prestigious meet.

Young took an Honorable Mention award in the 200-Meter dash with a 25.50 time. Also in the sprints, Ryan Cramer picked up Honorable Mention in the 100-Meters with his 10.68 mark.

Xara Gin leaped 3.53m in the pole vault for the postseason awards.

Rounding out the honors was the 4x100-Meter relay consisting of Ben Kritsberg, Gage Hatch, Jinwoo Jung, and Curtis Schupp earned a 42.68 time for Honorable Mention.

The women's program finished sixth at Outdoor Conference and the men finished 11th this season.
