NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Saint Mary's track and field team turned in an impressive showing at the MIAC Outdoor Championships this weekend, highlighted by three individual conference champions as the Cardinals continued their dominant season on the track.

Sophomore Mya Slavin turned in her first championship performance in the women's 800-meter run, capturing the MIAC title with a time of 2:10.85. Slavin's victory came after already claiming an individual conference championship in the mile during the indoor season, further cementing her place among the conference's elite middle-distance runners.

The Cardinals also dominated the women's sprint events as sophomore Zari Young raced to a conference title in the 100-meter dash, clocking a winning time of 11.93. Senior Samantha Munson followed with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 25.22, giving Saint Mary's two more MIAC champions who also swept individual titles during the indoor championships earlier this year.

Young and Munson also teamed up with Kenzie Munson and Jossy Saamanen in the women's 4x100-meter relay, where the Cardinals earned runner-up honors with a blazing time of 47.43, narrowly missing the conference title by just .05 seconds.

The Cardinals continued to pile up points throughout the championship meet with several additional all-conference performances.

In the women's 100-meter final, Saint Mary's placed two athletes on the podium as Young claimed gold and Samantha Munson finished second in 12.11.

Munson and Young repeated their success in the 200 meters, finishing first and fifth, respectively.

Isabella Schei turned in an impressive performance herself, placing second in the javelin throw with a 37.55 launch.

On the men's side, Ryan Cramer earned a podium finish in the 100 meters, placing sixth overall in 10.68, while freshman Gage Hatch added an eighth-place finish. Hatch also scored in the men's 200-meter final with another eighth-place finish in 21.98.

Deni Zaharieva delivered a strong showing in the women's 400 meters, placing ninth overall with a finals time of 58.42. Xara Gin clinched fourth in the pole vault with a 3.53m vault.

Goi Ruei added another podium performance for the Cardinals in the men's 800 meters, crossing the line eighth in 1:57.57.

In distance competition, Isaiah Fitzgerald posted a strong finish in the men's 10,000 meters, taking 10th overall with a time of 32:55.81, while Katherine Goergen competed in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase and finished in 12:31.73.

In the field, Ron White placed eighth in the hammer throw with a 47.44m toss to get on the podium.

The Cardinals will now await NCAA qualifying selections and possible new chances at Last Chance meets next weekend as several Saint Mary's athletes look to continue their postseason runs on the national stage.
