NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Saint Mary's men's and women's track and field teams had three student-athletes named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Athletes on the women's side, and both programs landed USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 50 nationally in an event or have competed in the indoor or outdoor national championship.

McKenzie Munson, Samantha Munson, and Mya Slavin each were the three Cardinals earning the All-Academic Athlete awards for the first time in their careers. 

The three record breakers helped lead the women's program to their best finishes in recent years. 

Darren Schnieder, the head coach of the program, has landed a team on the USTFCCCA Academic Team all five years at the helm. The men's side posted a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.19, and on the women's side, the team boasted a 3.44 average at the end of the 2025-26 academic year.
