WINONA, Minn. — Mother Nature just won't cut the Saint Mary's University baseball and fastpitch softball teams a break this season.
 
Due to the latest round of rain and poor field conditions, the Cardinal baseball team's nonconference doubleheader against UW-La Crosse and the Cardinal fastpitch softball team's nonconference twinbill against UW-Eau Claire have been canceled and will not be made up.
 
The baseball team returns to action on Saturday — weather permitting — hosting Bethel in a 1 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Max Molock Field.
 
The fastpitch softball team is back in action on Saturday — weather permitting — as the Cardinals head to Moorhead, Minn., for two games against Concordia. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
