SUPERIOR, Wis. — As good as Bryce Galewski (Winona, Minn.) during the opening round of the opening round of the Twin Ports Collegiate Friday, the Saint Mary's University senior was even better on Saturday.

Much, much better.

Galewski, who carded an opening-round three-over-par 74 to sit second overall, rifled the tournament's best round — a school-record six-under-par 65 — to win medalist honors, and lead the Cardinal men's golf team to a second-place team finish.

The Cardinal women, meanwhile, maintained their strangle-hold on third place, shooting a second-day 364 — 26 shots better than their opening-round 390 — to finish behind team champion St. Scholastica (345-336—681) and UW-Eau Claire (355-333—688).

Galewski wasn't the only Cardinal living below the par line Saturday, as Cooper Craiger (Des Moines, Iowa) delivered a career-best two-under 69 to go with his opening-round 80 and a 149 36-hole total. Joe Abdo (Edina, Minn.) added a 72 to his first-round 85 for a 157 total, followed by Josh Hill (St. Michael, Minn. / 86-74—160) and Blair Sanders (Kansas City, Mo. / 89-79—168).

UW-Superior won the men's team title, posting a 600 36-hole total, followed by Saint Mary's, which set single-day round of 280 Saturday was a school record en route to a 605 total. The Cardinals' second-day 280 shattered the single-day school record by 17 strokes, while their 605 was the team's lowest round since the 2017 season.

Jessica Massimo (Kenosha, Wis.) was the Cardinals' top golfer, adding an 88 to her opening-round 92 for a 180 total and a tie for 12th individually. Celeste Van Klein (Lake City, Minn.) chipped in a 185 (98-87), followed by Dani Stevens (Delano, Minn. / 98-96—194), Madyson Ulrey (North Manchester, Ind. / 102-93—195) and Cassie Sepp (Duluth, Minn. / 109-103—212).

The Cardinal men return to action next Sunday and Monday, taking part in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational, while the Saint Mary's women head to Onalaska, Wis., next Saturday and Sunday to compete in the UW-La Crosse/Viterbo Invitational.
