ONALASKA, Wis. —
Jessica Massimo (Kenosha, Wis.) led the way for the Saint Mary's women's golf team Saturday afternoon, carding a 94 to lead the Cardinals to a sixth-place showing after Day 1 of the UW-L/Viterbo Invitational.
Along with Massimo's 94, the Cardinals also got 104s from
Celeste Van Klein (Lake City, Minn.) and
Madyson Ulrey, while
Dani Stevens added a 107 and
Cassie Sepp finished with a 114.
UW-Platteville turned in a tournament-leading 346 to take a seven-stroke lead over co-host UW-La Crosse in the 36-hole tournament, while Viterbo was third (357), followed by UW-River Falls (374), Carroll (396), and Saint Mary's (409).
UW-La Crosse's Maija Tranberg shot a tournament-best 77, with Viterbo's Bailey Schmidt and Hannah Moore sitting tied for second with 80s.
The 36-hole tournament concludes on Sunday, when teams head to The Golf Club at Cedar Creek.
