• FOR THE RECORD: Saint Mary’s enters its conference doubleheader against Carleton boasting a 10-5 overall record, while sitting at 3-1 in conference play, after splitting its conference-opener against St. Catherine and sweeping Concordia last weekend.

• LAST ACTION: The Cardinals got a complete-game, nine-strikeout four-hitter from Sarah Kraus (Onalaska, Wis.) en route to a 6-2 Game 1 win, while Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill.) went 3-for-3 and Erin Sullivan (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) belted a two-run home run, as the Cardinals completed an MIAC sweep of Concordia 9-5 Sunday at the Saint Mary’s Field.

• STREAKING: After going 2-4 in their first six spring-trip games, the Cardinals rattled off five straight wins to close out their 11-game stay in Clermont, Fla. Saint Mary’s extended that winning streak to six games with their 10-7 win over St. Catherine in Game 1 last Saturday, before having their run halted with a 9-1 Game 2 loss.

• AT THE PLATE: As a team, the Cardinals are hitting .348 through 15 games, and has six regulars who are hitting .300 or better this season, led by Riley Hall (Dallas Station, Iowa / .545) and Sophie Cave (Maplewood, Minn. / .444). Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill. / .356), Erin Sullivan (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. / .351), Allison Ciero (Glen Ellyn, Ill. / .340), and Mackenzie Carey (Prescott, Wis. / .313) are the others.

• RUNNING WILD: The Cardinals have scored 107 runs in 15 games, led by Ciero, who has scored 17 times. Hall is second with 16 runs scored, one more than Cave. … Hall and Ciero have both scored three times in a game this season — Hall against St. Catherine last Saturday and Ciero vs. Concordia the following afternoon.

• HIT PARADE: Saint Mary’s boasts six players who have collected 10 or more hits through 15 games, led by Hall with 24 and Cave with 20. Ciero (18), Sutor (16), and Sullivan (13) have also already reached double figures in hits. … Saint Mary’s has amassed 37 multiple-hit games, led by Hall with nine and Cave with six. … Sutor owns the team’s top single-game performance, collecting a career-high four hits against Rosemount on March 5. … Both Hall and Ciero recorded their first collegiate three-hit games during SMU’s 11-game spring trip. …

• EXTRA, EXTRA: The Cardinals have amassed 49 extra-base hits — 36 doubles, nine triples and four home runs. Cave is the team-leader with eight doubles, three more than Sullivan, while Ciero and Hall lead the team in triples with three and two, respectively.

• GOING DEEP: Cave, Sullivan, Sarah Kraus (Onalaska, Wis.), and Ally Wagner (Altoona, Wis.) have belted Saint Mary’s four home runs this season. Wagner hit her first collegiate HR in the second game of last Saturday’s doubleheader against St. Catherine, while Cave and Kraus launched their first home runs in a Cardinal uniform during SMU’s 11-game spring trip. Kraus cracked a two-run shot against Rosemont on March 3, and Cave launched a three-run bomb against Finlandia on March 4.

• DRIVING ‘EM IN: Hall has delivered a team-best 17 RBIs, followed by Ciero with 13, Cave with 11, and Sullivan with 10. … Saint Mary’s has posted 24 multiple-RBI performances this season, led by Hall with five and Ciero with four. … Carey drove in a game- and career-high four runs in SMU’s season-opening win over Neumann on Feb. 26.

• TOUGH TO STOP: Hall had her season- and career-high nine-game hitting streak snapped in SMU’s 9-1 Game 2 loss to St. Catherine last Saturday. Hall has posted at least one hit in 13 of the 15 games she’s played this season. … Ciero is currently riding SMU’s longest active hit streak and six straight games.

• CAN’T CATCH ME: Saint Mary’s has already stolen 45 bases this season, led by Ciero with 11 steals on 12 attempts and Hall with nine stolen bases on 11 tries. … SMU — which swiped just 26 bases in 36 games a year ago — has gotten at least one stolen base from 13 different players. 

• IN THE CIRCLE: Kraus and Amelia Spilde (Brooklyn, Wis.) have been the workhorses in the pitcher’s circle, with Kraus logging a team-high 49.2 innings, followed by Spilde with 23.0 innings of work. Kraus boasts a 2.68 ERA and 5-3 record in 11 appearances. She has tossed three complete games and teamed with Spilde for the team’s lone shutout. … Spilde is 3-0 with a 2.74 ERA in nine appearances, including four starts.

• PITCHING FIRSTS: Spilde, Kraus, and Hall all picked up their first collegiate pitching wins during SMU’s spring trip. Spilde tossed three innings of two-hit, shutout ball in SMU’s 14-0 win over Neumann on Feb. 26, while Kraus allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits in a complete-game 10-4 win over Cabrini the following day. Hall allowed two runs on three hits in 3 2/3 innings of relief against Finlandia on March 4. … Wagner collected her first collegiate save in SMU’s 10-7, Game 1 win over St. Catherine last Saturday, tossing a scoreless seventh. Kraus, meanwhile, struck out three of the five batters she faced in collecting her first collegiate save in last Sunday’s 9-5 Game 2 win over Concordia.

• FANNING THE FLAMES: Cardinal pitchers have combined to strike out 77 batters through 15 games, led by Kraus with 40 and Spilde with 16. … Kraus struck out a single-game career-high nine batters in SMU’s 6-2 win over Concordia in Game 1 last Sunday. … 

• THIS AND THAT: Saint Mary’s has outscored its opponents 107-75 and holds a scoring advantage in every inning but the second and third, where the Cardinals have been outscored 18-9 and 17-16. … SMU has been held to five runs or less in all five of its losses, while owning a 10-0 mark when scoring at least six runs. … Saint Mary’s has scored first just six times — going 6-0 — while sporting a 4-5 mark when its opponent plates the game’s first run. … Saint Mary’s has scored four or more runs in an inning nine times — including a season-high seven-run sixth inning in its 12-3 win over Rosemont on March 3.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Knights head into their doubleheader against Saint Mary’s boasting a 12-5 overall record, while the Knights’ doubleheader against Saint Benedict on Friday marked their first conference games of the season.

• LAST TIME OUT: After having their first three conference doubleheaders postponed due to weather, the Knights finally opening conference play on Friday, dropping both ends of their MIAC twinbill to nationally ranked Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., falling 10-1 in five innings in the first game, and 9-1 in six innings in the nightcap.

• COOLING OFF: The Knights opened the season with four straight wins, and, after an 18-1 loss to Smith College on March 18, rattled off seven more victories, before suffering loss No. 2 on the season — a 13-7, eight-inning setback against UW-Eau Claire on March 23. Since that loss to UW-Eau Claire on March 23, Carleton has gone 1-3 in its last four contests. 

• HOME SWEET HOME: The Knights have played just four home games this season, but have won all four — beating Martin Luther (21-5; 12-10) and Crown (11-0; 20-4). Carleton is 8-3 on the road.

• AT THE PLATE: As a team, the Knights are hitting .365, and boast six regulars who are hitting .300 or better, led by Brooke McKelvey, who boasts a .629 batting average (22-for-35). Bryanna Schaffer (.426), Cassie Cunniff (.412), Ella Collins (.343), Laurie Avila (.342), and Amy Chen (.300) are also hitting at or above the .300 mark.

• RUNNING WILD: Cunniff has scored a team-leading 21 runs, and is one of seven Knights with 10 or more runs scored this season. McKelvey is second to Cunniff with 16 runs, followed by Schaffer (15), Emma Kartheiser (15), Collins (14), Trina Eichel (13), and Avila (12). … Collins and Kartheiser have both scored four runs in a game this season ­— both against Old Westbury on March 20.

• HIT PARADE: McKelvey has banged out a team-best 22 hits, one more tan Cunniff and two in front of Schaffer. The trio are the only Knights with 20 or more hits this season. … McKelvey has recorded two of Carleton’s three four-hit games this season, with Cunniff recording the other.

• EXTRA, EXTRA: Carleton has accumulated 58 extra-base hits this season, including 41 doubles, 11 triples and six home runs. … Cunniff has amassed a team-leading nine doubles, followed by Collins with seven and Kartheiser with six. … Kartheiser and McKelvey have each posted four triples to account for eight of the team’s 11 triples.

• GOING DEEP: Cunniff has clubbed four of Carleton’s six home runs, with McKelvey and Faith Henshaw belting the Knights’ other two round-trippers. 

• DRIVING ‘EM IN: Carleton has six players with 10 or more RBIs this season, led by McKelvey with 18, and Cunniff and Kartheiser with 15 each. … Cunniff drove in a single-game season-high five runs in Carleton’s win over Middlebury on March 25.

• IN THE CIRCLE: Carleton has used five different pitchers this season, led by Logan Robinson, who has logged a team-high 40 1/3 innings. Hanshaw (28.0 IP) and Ally Norton (18 1/3 IP) have also tossed 10 or more innings this season. … Robinson (5-1, 2.62 ERA) and Hanshaw (3-2, 4.75 IP) have made a team-leading eight pitching appearances, three more than Norton (3-0, 6.49 ERA), while Robinson and Hanshaw share the team lead with six starts each.
