WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team had four players — senior
Josh Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.), junior
Brendon Raabolle (Andover, Minn.), and sophomores
Caden Rodning (Mason City, Iowa) and
Tucker Stene (Fridley, Minn.) — who earned College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® honors, it was announced Tuesday.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Athletes must carry a 3.50 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale — while completing at least one full calendar year at the institution — have appeared in 50 percent of the team's contests, and made a significant impact on the field of competition to be eligible.
Janssen, a Finance/Business Intelligence & Analytics major with a 3.61 grade-point-average, closed out his senior season with seven singles and seven doubles victories, while Raabolle (Biology, 3.63 GPA) boasted a team-high nine doubles wins and chipped in seven singles victories. Stene (Graphic Design, 3.79 GPA) enjoyed a stellar sophomore campaign, leading the squad with 11 singles, and Rodning (Finance/Management, 3.61) finished second on the team with nine singles wins and added seven victories in doubles play.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early June.
