SAINT MARY’S SCOUTING REPORT:
• FOR THE RECORD: The Cardinals head into their home games against Concordia and UW-Stevens Point this weekend sitting at 4-5-0 overall, including 0-4-0 in conference play.
• LAST TIME OUT: The Cardinals scored the game’s first goal with just 10 seconds remaining in the first half, only to have Gustavus net back-to-back goals three minutes apart in the game’s final 12 minutes in dealing SMU a 2-1 conference setback Wednesday in St. Peter, Minn.
• FAST STARTS: The Cardinals have scored a goal before the eight-minute mark in four of their nine games this season. Genesis Capacio (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored at 7:09 against UMN Morris on Sept. 1, Laura Ashe (Beaverton, Ore.) needed just 2:55 to put SMU out front against Wartburg on Sept. 3, Ella Lahart (Sherwood, Ore.) found the back of the net 7:52 into the first half against Beloit on Sept. 5, and Samantha Munson (Plain City, Utah) scored at 2:19 of the first half vs. Lawrence four days later.
• HOME ON THE ROAD: The Cardinals, who went 6-1-2 in their eight home games last season, have collected all four of their wins this season on the road. SMU is 4-2-0 in five road contests, while sitting at 0-3-0 at Ochrymowycz Field.
• THROWING UP ZEROS: Twenty-one of Saint Mary’s last 28 games have been decided by shutout — including 13 of SMU’s last 15 wins. … All four of SMU’s victories this season have been by shutout — 6-0 over UMN Morris, and 1-0 over Beloit, Lawrence, and UW-Stout. … All told, seven of SMU’s nine games this season have been decided by shutout — the lone exceptions, 2-1 losses to Wartburg and Gustavus.
• SPREADING THE WEALTH: Saint Mary’s 11 goals this season have come from nine different players, led by Samantha Munson, who has netted a team-best three goals. Capacio, Lahart, Ashe, Lauryn Skoruppa (Littleton, Colo.), Brooklyn McKinney (Thornton, Colo.), Hannah Bradley (Portland, Ore.), Dakota Leonard (Lincolnshire, Ill.), and Sadie Chrusciel (Geneva, Ill.) own SMU’s other eight goals.
• CAREER FIRSTS: Saint Mary’s has had three players net their first collegiate goals this season. Chrusciel tallied her first goal as a Cardinals in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Gustavus; Bradley netted her first collegiate goal in SMU’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris on Sept. 1, while Ashe’s first-half tally against Wartburg two days later was her first as a Cardinal.
• CAREER FIRST II: Samantha Munson collected her first collegiate multiple-point game, scoring once and assisting on two others for a four-point effort in SMU’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris on Sept. 1.
• LENDING A HAND: Samantha Munson and Peyton Maier (Elk River, Minn.) share the team lead with three assists each, while Lahart, Ashe, McKinney, Leonard, Anna Warneke (Maple Grove, Minn.), and Kaylen Pray (Port Townsend, Wash.) have all collected one helper..
• POINT PRODUCER: Samantha Munson sits atop the team’s points race with nine (3 G, 3 A), followed by Ashe (1 G, 1 A), Leonard (1 G, 1 A), McKinney (1 G, 1 A), Lahart (1 G, 1 A), and Maier (3 A) with three, and Bradley, Skoruppa, and Capacio with two each.
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Anna Peckosh (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has started seven of the Cardinals’ nine games in goal, compiling a 1.21 goals-against-average and a .742 save percentage. McKenzie Munson owns SMU’s other starts — a one-save shutout on Sept. 5 against Beloit and a two-save shutout against UW-Stout last Sunday — while Megan Nadal (Chino, Calif.) has made one save in 36:13 minutes of work. … Peckosh has made a team-high 23 saves in seven games.
• GOALKEEPING FIRSTS: McKenzie Munson recorded her first collegiate win and first career shutout — in her first collegiate start, a 1-0 win over Beloit on Sept. 5. … Peckosh stopped a career-high eight shots in racking up career shutout No. 1 against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 16, 2022. … Peckosh made her first collegiate start against UW-Stout on Oct. 5, 2022, stopping both Blue Devil shots she faced in 45:00 of play, while making her first appearance in a Cardinal uniform on Sept. 17, 2022, making three saves in 22 minutes of relief in SMU’s 3-0 loss to Saint Benedict. … Nadal made her first collegiate start on Sept. 21, 2022 against Luther, stopping seven first-half shots.
• CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Saint Mary’s has scored eight of its 11 goals this season in the first half. … Saint Mary’s has allowed just eight goals in nine games — three in the first half and five in the second. … SMU has outshot its opponents 135-91, including 66-35 in shots on goal. … SMU’s six goals against the Cougars on Sept. 1 are the most since SMU poured in 11 goals against Martin Luther on Sept. 6, 2021.
CONCORDIA SCOUTING REPORT:
• FOR THE RECORD: The Cobbers head into their second straight road contest sitting at 4-3-1 overall, including a 2-1-0 mark after three conference games.
• LAST TIME OUT: Sophia Robinson scored the game’s only goal five minutes into the opener half, as the Cobbers posted their second straight 1-0 victory, beating the Pipers 1-0 Wednesday in St. Paul, Minn.
• 2-FOR-2: Concordia — which is playing its second straight road game with Saturday’s showdown at Saint Mary’s — has found success both at home and on the road this season. CC is 2-2-0 in its four home games this season, while sporting a 2-1-1 mark on the road.
• NAILBITERS: Six of Concordia’s eight games this season have been decided by one goal or less — the lone exceptions, a 5-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan and a 2-0 loss to Carleton. … Seven of the Cobbers’ eight contests have been shutout.
• THROWING UP ZEROS: The Cobbers’ have allowed just one goal in its four wins this season — that coming in a 2-1 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Sept. 18. CC followed that win up with back-to-back 1-0 victories over Macalester and Hamline, and heads into Saturday’s matchup against Saint Mary’s riding a three-game winning streak.
• SHE SHOOTS AND SCORES: Emma Sheflo has netted a team-leading four goals, one more than Sophia Robinson. The pair have accounted for seven of the team’s nine goals this season, with Chloe Sollom and Clara Rooney scoring the other two. … Sheflo and Robinson both own two-goal games this season — Sheflo against Dakota Wesleyan on Sept. 18 and Robinson vs. Nebraska Wesleyan on Sept. 8.
• LENDING A HELPING HAND: Sollom and Ella Shinn have each picked up a pair of assists this season, while Sheflo and Emily Larsen collecting the Cobbers other two helpers.
• POINT PRODUCTION: With her four goals and one assist, Sheflo leads the team with nine points, followed by Robinson with six and Sollom with four.
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Bre Nelson and Kaitlin Petrich have shared the goalkeeping duties this season, with each making four starts. Nelson has not allowed a goal in 360:00 minutes, stopping all 12 shots she’s faced and posting four shutouts. Petrich, meanwhile, owns a 1.25 goals-against-average and .800 save percentage, allowing five goals and making 20 saves. … Petrich made a season-high eight saves against Loras on Sept. 2, while Nelson’s top effort has been a five-save showing against UW-Platteville on Sept. 3.
• CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Concordia holds a 102-76 advantage in shots through eight games, including a 64-37 edge in shots on goal. … The Cobbers have scored seven of their nine goals in the first half. CC’s opponents, meanwhile, have scored twice in the first half and added three goals after the break. … CC posted season-highs in goals (5), assists (4), and points (14) in its 5-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Sept. 8. … Concordia has allowed more than one goal in a game just once this season, falling to Carleton 2-0 on Sept. 16

• FOR THE RECORD: The Pointers head into their weekend games against UW-Stout and Saint Mary’s sitting at 2-6-0 overall through the season’s first eight games.
• LAST TIME OUT: Nora Lee scored and Gabby Dunn scored second-half goals, lifting the Pointers to a 2-0 nonconference win over Beloit Wednesday at the UWSP Turf Facility in Stevens Point, Wis.
• HOME SWEET HOME: Both of UW-Stevens Point’s wins heading into this weekend have come at home. The Pointers are 2-1-0 at home, while going winless (0-5-0) on the road.
• STREAK-SNAPPERS: The Pointers’ two wins have each snapped a three-game losing streak. UW-SP’s 1-0 victory over Hamline on Sept. 8 put an end to a season-opening three-game slide, while Wednesday’s win over Beloit snapped another three-game skid.
• SHE SHOOTS AND SCORES: UW-Stevens Point’s seven goals this season have come from three players. Cass Klitzke leads the team with three goals, while Gabby Dunn and Nora Lee have each chipped in two.
• LENDING A HELPING HAND: Madison Culli have amassed a team-high three assists, with Klitzke, Dunn, Jessica Camarato, and Heather Iverson each chipping in one helper.
• POINT PRODUCTION: With her three goals and one assist, Klitzke leads the Pointers with seven points, followed by Dunn with five, Lee with four, and Culli with three.
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: UW-SP has used three different goalkeepers through eight games, led by Savannah Reed, who has appeared in all eight games — including six starts.
