NORTHFIELD, Minn. —
Â
For the second day in a row,
Chris Bulwa proved to be a busy man for the Saint Mary's University track and field teams Saturday afternoon at Day 2 of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
Â
Fresh off an honorable-mention All-MIAC fourth-place finish in the 60 on Friday, Bulwa collected some more conference hardware — Bulwa did that one better on Saturday, earning All-MIAC honors in the 200, thanks to a third-place time of 22.41.
Â
Bulwa also had a hand in the SMU men's 4x400 relay team's ninth-place performance, teaming with
Oliver Adamson,
Brady Johnson, and Eddie Patton to post a time of 3:32.61.
Â
Not to be outdone, the Cardinals'
Morgan Wallendal joined Bulwa in the conference-honor department, as the junior earned All-MIAC honors with a third-place effort in the women's shot put. Wallendal delivered a throw of 12.34 meters — her season-best — to finish behind Molly Meyers of Hamline (14.02m) and Bethel's Nora Wilhelm (12.88m).
Â
Other top 10 performances for the Cardinals included a ninth by Johnson in the triple jump, posting a mark of 12.87 meters; a 10th by Adamson in the 200 with a tgime of 23.14; a 10th-place toss of 11.06 meters by
Samantha Kubes in the shot put, and a ninth-place showing for the women's 4x400 relay team of
Kaylen Pray,
Caeli McMahon,
Megan Frosch, and
Abbie Meyer, who stopped the clock in 4:27.94
Â
The Cardinals will officially kick off the outdoor season on March 29-39, when they head to St. Louis, Mo., to take part in the Washington University Distance Carnivall and Invitational.
