WINONA, Minn. — Cameron Mallory (Joliet, Ill.) and Breyton Buysman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) were a lethal 1-2 punch for the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team this season — Mallory the Robin to Buysman's Batman … or maybe it was Buysman's Robin to Mallory's Batman.

Either way, one thing was certain, the Cardinals' dynamic duo kept the Saint Mary's offense purring.

And their efforts did not go unnoticed.

Both Mallory and Buysman picked up their first post-season conference honors, being named honorable-mention All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference when the conference office unveiled its All-MIAC teams Monday afternoon.

Mallory closed out the season averaging 15.3 points-per-game in 20 conference contests, finishing 117-for-256 from the field, with 18 3-pointers, while going 53-for-66 from the free throw line. The junior also hauled in 89 rebounds (4.5 rpg), and delivered 30 assists, 24 steals and 11 blocks.

In 25 overall games, Mallory finished with a 15.4 ppg scoring average, going 153-for-318, with 22 3-pointers, and knocked down 57 of 73 free throws. He cleared the century mark in rebounds for the first time his collegiate career, posting 105 boards (4.2 rpg), and chipped in 36 assists, 27 steals, and 19 blocks.

Not to be outdone, Buysman's numbers were equally as impressive — both in conference play and overall.

The junior led the team with a 16.1 ppg scoring average in 20 conference contests, hitting on 136 of 309 field goal attempts, including 22 3-pointers, and finished 27-for-38 from the charity stripe. Buysman posted 109 rebounds (5.5 rpg), and notched 30 assists, 20 steals, and eight blocks.

Like Mallory, Buysman played every game of the Cardinals'25-game schedule, compiling a 15.4 ppg scoring average. He finished 162-for-374 from the field, knocked down 29 3-pointers, and collected a single-season career-high 130 rebounds (5.2 rpg). Buysman also dished out 37 assists, recorded 26 steals and amassed 11 blocks.

Carleton's Luke Harris was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Austin Holt of Hamline took home Defensive Player of the Year honors. Sam Koelling of Carleton earned MIAC Rookie of the Year honors and Saint John's Pat McKenzie was tabbled the conference's Coach of the Year.
