LA CROSSE - The Saint Mary's track and field team sent three Cardinals to La Crosse today to compete in the Indoor Final Qualifier hosted by UW-La Crosse, aiming to qualify an athlete for nationals next weekend.
 
The final qualifier meet brought together some of the top athletes in the region, all seeking one last opportunity to make their mark.
 
Seniors Casen Fritz and Sydney Jackman competed in field events today, while freshman Zari Young participated in a track event.
 
Young finished in 12th place with a time of 7.80 in the 60m sprint.
 
Jackman earned eighth place with a shot put throw of 12.02 meters.
 
Fritz secured 10th place with a 15.33m throw in the weight throw event.
 
Tomorrow, the final list of athletes competing at Nationals will be released, with hopes that one of these three Cardinals will be on that list.
 
Nationals will be located in Rochester, New York hosted by Nazareth University on March 15-17th.
