ST. PAUL, Minn. - A small group of Cardinals on the Track and Field team made their way to Macalester College today to perform amidst the cold rain in the Rider/Bolstorff Inviational.
Â
Included in this group were two distance runners,
Isaiah Fitzgerald and Kendra Schneider, both competing in the 5000m race.
Â
Fitzgerald was first to compete, and despite the rain, he competed the best yet in his career, racing a new personal best time of 15:51.26 and finishing 19th overall. He also moved into seventh place in Saint Mary's school history.
Â
Kendra Klobe followed him, racing to a finish of 19:44.32 while bracing through the chilly rainfall. She finished 14th in the women's race.
Â
Many athletes also competed in the hammer throw at this early showing of the Rider Bolstorff Invitational.
Â
Most of these athletes will return to compete again at Macalester this Saturday, April 26th, for the second half of the Rider Bolstorff Invitational.
