LA CROSSE, Wis. – Just a short trip from Winona, the Saint Mary's track and field teams competed at the UWL Pat Healy Classic on Saturday, highlighted by a record-breaking performance from Samantha Munson.

Munson etched her name into the Saint Mary's record book by posting the fastest indoor 200-meter time in program history. Her time of 25.99 shattered the previous mark of 26.28, set by Teri Heinzen in 2006, and earned her a sixth-place finish in the event.

On the men's side, Ryan Cramer turned in an impressive day on the track, clocking a personal-best 6.90 in the 60 meters to place third. He also added an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 22.83.

Teammates Gabe Hatch (23.52) and Ben Kritsberg (23.57) followed closely behind, finishing 11th and 12th, respectively.

Liam Smith recorded a third-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.00, while Isaiah Fitzgerald broke his own personal record in the 3000 meters, placing fifth in 8:51.53.

In the throwing events, Rowan Sween placed 14th in the weight throw with a mark of 13.33 meters and added a 13th-place finish in the shot put at 12.10 meters. Collin Malecha competed alongside Sween, placing 15th in the shot put (10.11m) and 16th in the weight throw (8.50m).

For the women, Mya Slavin posted a personal-best time of 10:33.74 in the 3000 meters, good for fifth place.

Izzy Schei also delivered a strong performance, setting personal bests in both the shot put (9.54m) and the weight throw (13.54m), finishing ninth overall.

The Cardinals return to action next weekend, competing Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30–31, at the St. Olaf Multi Invitational.
