SAINT PETER, Minn. – This weekend was the men's turn in the ITA Midwest Regional tennis tournament to round out the fall matches for the Cardinals. The Cardinals finished with five wins in the prestigious tournament
It was the first time the team competed in the tournament since the 2022 season.Â
Freshman Teagan Schott was the star of the show, winning rounds one and two of the tournament. It was the farthest a Cardinal in singles action went. He went 6-4, 6-4 against Saint John's, 7-5, 6-3 over Hamline before falling in a thriller to St. Olaf, 6-4, 6-2, 13-11.
Gavin Pratt won his first round over Luther 7-5, 7-6(1) before dropping his tight matchup 6-4, 7-5, 10-8.
Drake Wonderling earned a big 8-5 win over Hamline before falling in the second round 8-2.Â
The duo of Pratt and Charles Simon took a win over Simpson 8-1 before falling to St. Norbert 8-2.
Looking Ahead
The Cardinals will take winter off before jumping back into action in January to compete in the heart of the season.
