Smith was busy in nets for the Cardinals during their season-opening weekend at UW-Superior and St. Scholastica. The senior goalie stopped 38 of the 42 shots he faced in leading SMU to a 4-4 tie vs. ninth-ranked UW-Superior on Friday night, then followed that up with a career-best 54-save effort in the Cardinals' 7-4 loss to St. Scholastica.
