Lichttenegger has been a record-breaking machine for the Saint Mary’s men’s track and field team — and last Friday’s Minnesota State-Mankato Maverick Invitational was just another chapter.
Â
The senior shattered two school records — giving him seven during the short indoor season — to pace the Cardinals at the non-team-scored event.
Â
Lichttenegger kicked things off with a school-record time of 6.89 in the 60, before breaking his own school record in the 200 with a time of 22.19. Lichttenegger’s school-record time of 6.89 in the 60 has him sitting eighth in the nation, while his record-setting 22.19 in the 200 is the 10th-fastest in the country this season.
Â
Lichttenegger has now broken the school’s record in the 55 (three times), the 200 (twice), and the long jump. Lichttenegger’s school-record leap of 7.32 meters in the long jump at the UW-Stout Open on Jan. 25 is currently the fourth-longest jump in NCAA Division III this season.
