French made quite an impressive in her collegiate debut for the Saint Mary’s fastpitch softball team, as the freshman went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs in SMU’s 8-0, season-opening win over Crown last Saturday.
 
All told, French finished the Cardinals’ four-game tournament in the Mankato Dome hitting a team-leading .545, going 6-for-11 with one doubles and her first collegiate home run, while also scoring five times and stealing three bases.
