Bauman kicked off the 2023 season in impressive fashion, hitting a team-leading .379 in the Cardinal baseball team’s eight spring-trip games in Auburndale, Fla., last week.
 
The sophomore collected 11 hits in 29 at-bats — including his first collegiate home run — while scoring four runs, adding a pair of RBIs, and stealing four bases in four attempts. Bauman picked up at least one hit in seven of the Cardinals’ eight games and ended the trip with a six-game hitting streak.
