Last Action: The Cardinals, playing their second game in a 24-hour span, got a first-half goal from Ryan Rademacher (La Crosse, Wis.) and 18 saves from Jon Szafranski (Barrington, Ill.) in earning a 1-1 double-overtime tie vs. Viterbo in Winona Wednesday. Upper Iowa, meanwhile, picked up its second win in the Peacocks' last three games with a 1-0 victory over Iowa Wesleyan Wednesday.

Last MeetingWednesday, Oct. 15, 2008: Andy Anger (South Milwaukee, Wis.) accounted for the Cardinals' lone goal, knotting the game at 1-1 early in the first half with his first collegiate goal. Before the half ended, however, Upper Iowa would add two more goals, then tack on a fourth in the second half in handing SMU a 4-1 setback in Fayette, Iowa.

SMU Cardinal Notes: Ryan Rademacher (La Crosse, Wis.) netted his first goal of the season to account for SMU's goal in Wednesday's 1-1 tie vs. Viterbo. … Jon Szafranski (Barrington, Ill.), who needed to make just four saves in recording his third shutout of the season Tuesday at Marian, stopped a career-high 18 V-Hawk shots — including two in each of the two OT sessions — on Wednesday. Szafranski's previous career-best was a 16-save effort against Puget Sound on Sept. 7, 2008. … Szafranski, who now boasts a 1.42 goals-against-average and an .804 save percentage, has now stopped 41 shots this season, pushing his school-record career saves total to 346. … SMU's six goals this season have come from five different players — Steve Boussie (Troy, Mich.) (2), Rademacher, Bobby Gas (Lake Zurich, Ill.), Jacob Bina (West Salem, Wis.) and Jovenel D'Haiti (Evanston, Ill.). … Juamaine Venter (Rochester, Minn.) recorded his first-ever multiple-point game, assisting on both SMU goals in the Cardinals' 2-0 win vs. Marian on Tuesday. … SMU has won all three of its games by shut out, while two of the team's three losses have also been by shutout. … Wednesday's game was the first OT contest of the season for SMU. The Cardinals are 2-0-3 in their last five overtime games and have not lost an OT game since a 3-2 setback vs. Macalester on Sept. 22, 2006.

Upper Iowa Peacock Notes: Josh Danielson scored his first goal of the season to account for Upper Iowa's lone goal in Wednesday's win over Iowa Wesleyan. … Nine of Upper Iowa's 10 games have been decided by shutout. The Peacocks have won 1-0 (twice) and 4-0, while losing 1-0, 2-0 and 4-0 twice each. A 1-1 double-overtime tie vs. Mount Mercy on Sept. 9 is the only game not decided by shutout. … Derek Oelmann and Steve Kluck share the team lead in both goals (2) and points (4), while Frank Atchison and Alan Martinez have accounted for the Peacocks' lone two assists. … GK Andy Youde enters today's game boasting a 1.52 goals-against-average and an .835 save percentage. He has stopped 76 of the 91 shots he's faced. … Nine of the 15 goals allowed by Upper Iowa have come in the second half. … The Peacocks are 1-3-1 away from home.
