WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team, coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to Macalester in St. Paul, Minn., on Tuesday, return home Saturday, playing host to St. Catherine in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Ochrymowycz Field.

Last Action: The Cardinals held a 1-0 lead into the game's 78th minute, only to give up back-to-back goals — the first on a PK to force overtime and the second nine minutes into the first OT — as nationally ranked Macalester handed SMU a 2-1 setback Tuesday. St. Catherine, meanwhile, also lost to a nationally ranked team in overtime, falling to Concordia 1-0 on Wednesday.

SMU Cardinal Notes: Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.) scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season vs. Macalester Tuesday. Sibik's 10 goals are two shy of the career-record 12 goals she scored as a freshman, and give her 30 for her three-year career — ranking the SMU junior seventh all-time. … Sibik, who led the team in scoring in each of her first two seasons — and owns seven career multiple-goal games — also boasts a team-best 22 points, while Caitlyn Cole (Larsen, Wis.) holds the team lead in assists with five. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico), who stopped nine Macalester shots on Tuesday, enters today's game boasting a 0.72 goals-against-average and an .889 save percentage. … Tuesday's loss to Macalester was the Cardinals' second overtime game of the season. SMU is still looking for its first overtime win since a 1-0 win over St. Catherine on Sept. 13, 2007, going 0-2-3 in five OT games since then. … Carleton's two goals vs. SMU last Saturday are the only goals allowed by SMU in the first half this season. SMU, meanwhile, has scored nine of its 16 goals in the game's opening 45 minutes.
St. Catherine Wildcat Notes: Wednesday's loss to Concordia extended the Wildcats winless streak to three straight (0-2-1). … The loss to the Cobbers was also the second overtime game in their last three contests. St. Catherine had tied Clarke College 1-1 in double overtime on Sept. 13. … The Wildcats have not allowed a goal in any of their three games, outscoring their opponents 22-0. On the flip side, CSC as not scored a goal in its three losses, getting outscored 5-0. … Kelsey Nistler enters today's match leading the team in all three offensive categories — goals (4), assists (4) and points (14). … St. Catherine's 25 goals have come from 11 different players. … GK Bridget Berry boasts a 0.85 goals-against-average and a .793 save percentage, having stopped 23 of the 29 shots she's faced this season. … Four of the six goals allowed by the Wildcats have come in the first half.
