WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University tennis teams begin a busy home weekend at the Winona Tennis Center with the men hosting UW-La Crosse at 6 p.m. Both teams host Concordia on Saturday, while the SMU women also entertain Winona State Saturday.

Last Action:
The Cardinal men returned to conference play on Wednesday, traveling to Bethel, where the Royals handed SMU a 6-3 setback. The SMU women also head into the weekend following a conference match against Bethel, as the Cardinals downed the Royals 6-3 on Thursday. … UW-La Crosse has been off since March 16, when the Eagles closed out their spring-trip matches in Orlando, Fla., with a 5-4 win over St Scholastica. … The Concordia men have been off since Sunday, when the Cobbers dropped a 6-3 nonconference decision at St. Cloud State, while the CC women enter Saturday's MIAC contest against SMU following a 9-0 nonconference win over Northwestern last Saturday. … Winona State has not had a match since March 9, when the Warriors closed out their spring trip to Orlando, Fla., with an 8-1 loss to Southern New Hampshire.

UW-La Crosse swept all three doubles matches and won four singles matches in straight sets in handing SMU a 7-2 setback at the then-SMU Tennis Center.

SMU Women vs. Concordia — March 21, 2010:
Bailey Edwards (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Rebecca Snyder combined for three of the SMU women's four wins, but it was not enough, as SMU dropped a 5-4 decision to the Cobbers in Moorhead, Minn.

SMU Men vs. Concordia — March 21, 2010:
The Cardinal men, hobbled by injuries and illness, couldn't match the power of the Cobbers, falling 8-1, in Moorhead, Minn. Michael Lunka (Eagan, Minn.) and Bobby Steingraeber (La Crosse, Wis.) teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles to account for SMU's lone victory.

SMU Women vs. Winona State — February 27, 2010:
The Cardinals rallied from a 4-3 deficit to beat Winona State 5-4 in a nonconference match at the Winona Tennis Center.

SMU Up Next:
The Cardinal women are back in action on Friday, hosting UW-La Crosse in a 6 p.m. nonconference match, while both the SMU women and men entertain Hamline in conference play on Saturday. Men's match vs. the Pipers is set for noon, with the women following at 2 p.m.
