Match Summary

ELKHORN, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team kicked off its spring trip in impressive fashion on Saturday — and the Cardinals made it look easy.

SMU picked up straight-set wins in all six singles matches in cruising to a 9-0 nonconference win over Edgewood at the Four Lakes Athletic Club.

Tim Wolford (Maple Grove, Minn.), Bobby Steingraeber (La Crosse, Wis.), Sam Puff (Eden Priarie, Minn.), Andrew Rangitsch (Oakdale, Minn.), Gavin Smith (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Steven Mino (Austin, Minn.) were all straight-set winnings in singles play — with Smith and Mino each recording 6-0, 6-0 victories.

The Cardinals only lost eight games in the three doubles matches, as SMU pushed its winning streak to four straight in improving to 5-3 overall.

SMU is back in action on Sunday, traveling to Naperville, Ill., for a nonconference match against North Central.
