SARTELL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University tennis teams hit the road on Sunday, traveling to the Gold's Gym Courts for a pair of conference matches. The Cardinal women square off against Saint Benedict at 1:30 p.m., followed by the SMU men vs. Saint John's at 4:30 p.m.

SMU Women (3-6 MIAC | 7-10 Overall) at CSB Blazers (4-2 MIAC | 9-7 Overall), 1:30 p.m.
SMU Men (0-8 MIAC | 6-10 Overall) at SJU Johnnies (1-5 MIAC | 7-6 Overall), 4 p.m.

Last Action:
The Cardinal men picked up a streak-snapping 6-3 win over Northwestern in a nonconference match at the Winona Tennis Center on Friday. … The SMU women have been off since April 9, when they dropped a heartbreaking 5-4 decision at Hamline in St. Paul, Minn. … Saint John's headed into its weekend matches against St. Thomas and Saint Mary's on the heels of a 6-3 victory over Hamline in St. Paul, Minn., on Wednesday. … Saint Benedict, meanwhile, headed into its weekend match vs. St. Thomas and Saint Mary's on a high note, beating Concordia 7-2 in Moorhead, Minn., on Wednesday.

The Johnnies' Luke Odegard held off SMU's Sam Puff (Eden Prairie, Minn.) in a three-set marathon to lift Saint John's to a 5-4 MIAC victory over the Cardinals at the Winona Tennis Center.

SMU Women vs. Saint Benedict — April 11, 2010:
Bailey Edwards (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Rebecca Snyder collected SMU's two wins against Saint Benedict, with Edwards winning 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Snyder was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 2 singles. That however, would be the extent of SMU's success against CSB, as the Blazers handed SMU a 7-2 conference setback at the Winona Tennis Center.

The Cardinal men close out their regular season on Tuesday, hosting Minnesota State Mankato in a 3 p.m. nonconference match at the Winona Tennis Center. … The SMU women, meanwhile, are off until April 30, when the Cardinals host St. Norbert and UW-Stout in nonconference matches at the Winona Tennis Center. … Saint John's now has a nine-day layoff, before returning to action on April 26 for a nonconference home match against St. Cloud State. … Saint Benedict is right back in conference play on Tuesday, traveling to St. Paul, Minn. for an MIAC match against Hamline.

Edwards improved to 17-4 with her latest victory. … Edwards enters this weekend's matches 14-3 in duals, while adding a 3-1 showing in last September's USTA/ITA Midwest Regional. … With her 7-5, 2-6, 12-10 victory over Macalester's Paige Schaefer last Saturday, Edwards pushed her school-record career singles wins total to 43. … Edwards also teamed with her sister, Killian Edwards to post an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles last Saturday. It was the school-record 37th doubles win of her three-year collegiate career.
