WINONA, Minn. — It was a busy day for Saint Mary's University's Alex Raske (Chicago, Ill.) and Nat Boissiere (Plymouth, Minn.) — and the Cardinal duo didn't even step on the softball field.

On the same day the two were named First-Team All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Raske and Boissiere were also honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association — with Raske being named Second Team All-Midwest Region, while Boissiere was a Third-Team selection.

Raske and Boissiere were the Cardinals' offensive leaders in 2013, sparking SMU to an 18-15 overall record and its third straight MIAC Tournament appearance.

Boissiere led the team with a team-best .455 batting average — going 46-for-101 with six doubles and three homes. The freshman, whose 46 hits were a team-best, also recorded 35 RBIs and a .604 slugging percentage.

Raske, meanwhile, was the team-leader in home runs (6), RBIs (36), total bases (68) and slugging percentage (.636). She hit .39, going 42-for-107 with six doubles, a triple and six home runs, and also finished with 16 multiple-hit games and 11 multiple-RBI efforts — both team highs.

Raske and Boissiere were two of 12 players from the MIAC named to the NFCA's three all-region teams.

Kimmy Hassel of St. Thomas, Angie Jackson of Bethel and Augsburg's Bri Dorale were first-team selections, while Kim Lidstone and Lexi Alm of Saint Benedict, and  Alyssa Dunrud and Jenna Hoffman of St. Thomas joined Raske on the second team. Boissiere was joined by St. Thomas' Kendra Bowe and McKenzie Wergin, and Macalester's Miranda Stokes on the third team.

There were 159 teams placing at least one student-athlete on an NFCA All-Region Team, with St. Thomas and Coe both placing all six of their eligible student-athletes on one of the three all-region teams.
