Geidner, Wolt named honorable-mention All-MIAC

WINONA, Minn. — It's been a steady climb up the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's soccer team's statistical ladder for junior Ryan Geidner (Antioch, Ill.).

As a freshman, Geidner collected one assist in 18 games played, and he followed that up by sharing the team lead in goals (3) and finishing second on the squad in points (7), while once again playing every game on the Cardinals' schedule.

Geidner was at his offensive best this season, recording a career-high and team-leading five goals and 10 points in 18 contests—and on Thursday, the junior was rewarded for his efforts, being named honorable-mention All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

And Geidner wasn't the only Cardinal making an impression on the conference's coaches this season, as teammate Jared Wolt (Farmington, Minn.) was also an honorable-mention All-MIAC selection.

Geidner collected his first collegiate two-goal game with a pair of tallies against Cornell on Sept. 24, while also picking up goals against North Park, Crown and Concordia.

Wolt, meanwhile, closed out his first year in a Cardinal uniform scoring a pair of goals and finishing with four points. The freshman recorded his first collegiate goal on Sept. 4 against North Central (Minn.).

Gustavus senior David Lilly was named the conference's Player of the Year, while Kurt Anderson, who guided St. Olaf to the conference regular-season title, was named MIAC Coach of the Year.
