WAVERLY, Iowa — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's golf team heads to Prairie Links Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday to take part in the 36-hole Wartburg Fall Invitational.

Saint Mary's at Wartburg Fall Invitational—A Year Ago:
• September 9-10, 2017 * Prairie Links Golf Course, Waverly, Iowa: Paula Avila (Weslaco, Texas)—who notched a career-low 93 during the opening round of the Wartburg Invitational—shaved four more strokes off that previous-best in carding an 89 during the final round. • The Cardinals are back in action next Saturday and Sunday, returning home to the Bridges Golf Course in Winona, Minn., for the inaugural Saint Mary's Invitational.

• Jessica Massimo (Kenosha, Wis.) has been the Cardinals' top golfer in each of their three rounds this season. The freshman opened her collegiate career with an 89 at the Mac/Mary Dual on Aug. 31, and followed that up with rounds of 88 and 86 at the 36-hole Saint Benedict Invitational. … Michaela Heuckendorf (Plymouth, Minn.), who posted a career-best round of 89 at last year's Wartburg Fall Invitational, carded a season-low 95 during the second round of the Saint Benedict Invitational last Sunday. … Annie Lorsung (Amery, Wis.) has recorded a pair of 96s and a 98 in her first three collegiate rounds, while Megan Larson (Galesville, Wis.) shot a collegiate best 97 during the first round of the Saint Benedict Invitational last Saturday. … Massimo heads into this weekend's Wartburg Invitational owning an 87.67 scoring average. She is followed by Lorsung (96.67) and Heuckendorf (99.50). Saint Mary's posted its top team total of the season at the Wartburg Fall Invitational on Sept. 9, shooting 368 in the opening round.
