MENOMONIE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's and women's track and field teams made their second straight appearance in UW-Stout's Sports & Fitness Center Saturday afternoon.
And for the Cardinals, the second time proved to be even better than the first.
Desmond Steward led the way for the Cardinals, collecting the teams' lone first-place finish with a leap of 13.79 meters in the triple jump.
Nathan Hoglund delivered a third-place showing in the 600 with a time of 1:27.01, while
Ben Borash was sixth in the mile (4:39.26) and
Kyle Lichttenegger was eighth in the 60 (7.25).
Rachel Ohde continued to excel in the high jump for the Saint Mary's women, clearing 1.57 meters to place second overall. Sydney Klausler had a busy day for the Cardinals, placing third in the 60 (8.26), fifth in the long jump (4.91m), eighth in the 200 (27.03) and ninth in the 60 (8.11).
After back-to-back trips to Menomonie, Wis., the Cardinals head south, traveling to Decorah, Iowa, next Saturday for a dual meet against Luther.
