MENOMONIE, Wis. — After their last two performances, Saint Mary's University track and field coach
Niels Anderson might want to consider Menomonie as his Cardinals' home venue.
Â
A week after posting a school record and 11 Top-10 finishes at the UW-Stout Open last Saturday, the Cardinals made a return trip to the Blue Devils' Sports & Fitness Center to take part in the Warren Bowlus Invitational.
Â
With much the same results — much to the delight of Anderson.
Â
The Cardinals recorded a pair of first-place finishes and posted 13 Top 10 finishes in their second straight appearance at UW-Stout Saturday afternoon.
Â
Rachel Ohde and Sydney Klausler led the Cardinals' charge, picking up first-place finishes in the high jump and long jump, respectively. Ohde cleared 1.58 meters en route to her high jump win, while Klausler uncorked a leap of 5.22m to win the long jump.
Â
Klausler added a sixth in the 200 (26.85) for the Cardinal women, while Bailey Joens (high jump, 1.48m), Hannah Crowe (800, 2:36.84), and Anna Swanson (600, 1:44.00) all chipped in seventh-place efforts.
Â
On the men's side,
Christian Beamer led the way with a fourth in the high jump (1.92m), and
Thomas Walker (triple jump, 12.84m) and
Ted Sweet (600, 1:36.40) delivered fifth-place efforts.
Â
Anthony Pasquesi (sixth, long jump, 6.07m),
Matt Boone (seventh, 400, 52.59),
Jon Meaden (seventh, mile, 4:37.31),
Sean Curran (ninth, weight throw, 14.74m), and Walker (ninth, long jump, 5.71m) also recorded Top 10 showings for the Cardinal men.
Â
The Cardinals are back on the track next Saturday, as Saint Mary's travels to Decorah, Iowa, to take part in the Luther Dual.
