  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals head into their doubleheader against Hamline sitting at 3-11 overall, after dropping both ends of their conference-opening doubleheader against St. Thomas last Saturday. … Saturday's games against Hamline marks just the third home date for the Cardinals, who have played 10 of their first 14 games away from the Saint Mary's Field. … Justine Schultz (Winona, Minn.) and Paige Gudmundson (Plainview, Minn.) each had two-hit games against St. Thomas last Saturday — Schultz's coming in Game 1 and Gudmundson's in Game 2. … Schultz has now had at least one hit in 10 of the team's last 12 games — including four two-hit games. … Mackenzie Carey (Prescott, Wis.) was perfect from the plate in the opener against Augsburg on March 21, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. It was Carey's first four-hit game of her collegiate career. … Lexi Brooks (Searcy, Ark.) owns a team-leading .370 batting average and is one of five SMU regulars hitting .300 or better, being joined by Jordan Meyers (Eyota, Minn. / .350), Amber Chow (West St. Paul, Minn. / .323), Schultz (.318), and Gudmundson (.306). … Schultz owns a team-leading seven runs scored, one more than Brooks and Gudmundson, while Brooks and Chow share the team lead in doubles with four each. … Schultz has accounted for two of the Cardinals' three triples this season, and Chow boasts the team lead in RBIs with seven. … Schultz and Gudmundson have each stolen a team-high four bases. … Twenty-one of Saint Mary's 96 hits have been for extra bases — including 18 doubles and three triples. … Schultz holds the team lead with four multiple-hit games — all two-hit games — and Chow is the team-leader with three multiple-RBI games. … Schultz and Erin Sullivan (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) have each put together team-high five-game hitting streaks this season, but no Cardinal has a current hitting streak longer than two games. … Amy Kulaga (Riverside, Ill.) had reached base safely in seven straight contests, before being held off the base paths in Game 1 vs. UW-Platteville on March 26. … Chow tossed her third complete-game of the season in the opener against UW-La Crosse on March 29, allowing three runs on seven hits in a 3-0 loss. Chow has thrown all three of the Cardinals' complete games this season. … Chow (2-6, 6.50 ERA) leads the Cardinal pitching staff in innings pitched (42.0), appearances (11), starts (7) and strikeouts (18). … Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill. / 1-3, 7.66 ERA) has thrown 32.0 innings in 10 appearances and has also struck out 18. … Saint Mary's has scored first in two of its three wins, but the Cardinals are just 1-10 when their opponent scores the game's first run. … The Cardinals' 10 runs in their Game 1 win over Augsburg on March 21 marked the second time this season SMU has scored in double figures. Saint Mary's scored a season-high 12 runs in its 14-12 Game 1 loss to St. Scholastica on March 14. … The Cardinals home-opener against UW-Platteville on March 26 marked their first home contest in 696 days, dating back to April 28, 2019 when Saint Mary's split its season-ending doubleheader with Bethel. … Saint Mary's 10-7, Game 2 win over Northwestern on March 11 was the first collegiate coaching victory for Cardinals' interim head coach Sam Borawski.
  HAMLINE PIPERS SCOUTING REPORT
Hamline enters the weekend with a 3-3 overall record, having not played since March 20, when they swept UW-Superior 8-0 and 5-2. … The Pipers' matchup with Saint Mary's will be their conference-opener. … Hamline has been held to one run in each of its three losses — falling to Northland (2-1), and UW-Stevens Point twice (10-1, 6-1). On the flip side, the Pipers have played 16 runs in their three wins — beating Northland (9-1) and UW-Superior twice (8-0, 5-2). … As a team, Hamline is hitting .273, and boasts three players — Theresa Kinnert (.533), Amber Peterson (.354) and Megan Rubbelke (.313) — who are hitting above .300 through six games. … Along with her team-leading .533 batting average, Kinnert also owns the team's top spot in hits (8), runs (5), home runs (2), total bases (18), slugging percentage (1.200), walks (4), and on-base percentage (.632). … Kinnert and Rubbelke share the team lead in doubles with two each, while also sharing the team lead in RBIs with four. … Kinnert has posted two-hit games in four of the Pipers' first six contests. …  Kinnert and Dana Rosbacka have been the workhorses in the pitcher's circle for the Pipers, tossing 18.1 and 11.2 innings, respectively. … Kinnert (2-1, 3.82 ERA) has made four appearances, including three starts, while Rosbacka (0-2, 4.20 ERA) has made a pair of starts. … Kinnert has struck out a team-leading 22 batters.
