  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Last Saturday's match at Saint John's was just the third road contest of the season for the Cardinals, who have played six of their first nine contests on their home courts at the Winona Tennis Center. … SMU's loss to Northwestern on April 2 was the Cardinals' first match decided by a 5-4 decision this season. Two of Saint Mary's three wins have been. 6-3 decisions, with the other a 7-2 triumph. On the flip side, the Cardinals have suffered three 8-1 defeats and two 7-2 decisions to go along with their 5-4 loss to Northwestern. … Trevor Smiley (Minnetonka, Minn.) enters this weekend with a team-leading six singles wins — all part of a season- and career-high six-match winning streak that was snapped against Saint John's on April 10. … Smiley's six singles wins — one at No. 3 singles and five at No. 4 — are two more than Josh Janssen (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Reilly Fredell (Colorado Springs, Colo.). … Fredell enters the weekend riding a three-match winning streak. … Gabe Graves (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is the only Cardinal to have played all nine matches at the same position, going 3-6 at No. 5. … Evan Huemoeller (Owatonna, Minn.) recorded his first collegiate singles win against Northwestern on April 2, posting a 3-6, 6-2, 10-1 win at No. 2. … Huemoeller is third Cardinal to post his first collegiate singles win this season. E.J. Hietala (Duluth, Minn.) notched his first win against Loras on March 6, while Fredell recorded a 6-3, 6-1 vs. Hamline on March 19 for his win No. 1. … Fredell leads the team with five doubles wins, one more than Graves. … Saint Mary's has used five different doubles combinations at No. 3. … The Cardinals' 5-4 loss to Northwestern on April 2 snapped the Cardinals' 13-match winning streak against the Eagles. … With their wins over Loras and Wartburg, and loss to Northwestern, this season, the Cardinals are now 67-25 in nonconference matches since 2012.
  GUSTAVUS GUSTIES SCOUTING REPORT
The Gusties head into the weekend unbeaten in conference play at 5-0, while owning a 10-2 overall record. … After opening the seven with seven straight wins — including four 9-0 sweeps — the Gusties dropped back-to-back matches to Drake (5-2) and Washington (Mo.) University (8-1), before rattling off three more 9-0 victories heading into Saturday's showdown with Saint Mary's. … GAC lost just 12 games in the six singles matches In Thursday's 9-0 win over Northwestern. … The Gusties, who are 61-11 in singles play this season, have gotten at least one singles victory from 19 different players — led by Joel Hug with seven. … Indraneel Raut is second to Hug with six singles wins, followed by Jack Bergmeyer, Alex Budde, and Caleb Fridinger with five each. … GAC has used nine different players at No. 4 singles, while using eight different Gusties at No. 5 and No. 6. … Gustavus is 11-1 at Nos. 2, 5 and 6 singles, while going 10-2 at No. 3, and 9-3 at Nos. 1 and 4. … Fridinger, Daniel Foucher, and Xavier Sanga lead the Gusties with six doubles wins apiece. … GAC has used 12 different combinations en route to a 30-6 mark in doubles play.
  CONCORDIA COBBERS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cobbers head into the weekend's matches against Hamline and Saint Mary's — both road matches — still searching for their first win of the season, sitting at 0-4 in MIAC play and 0-6 overall. … CC opened the year with an 8-1 loss to Saint John's, before dropping back-to-back-to-back 9-0 decisions to Gustavus, St. Thomas, and Bethel. A 6-3 setback against Northwestern and a 7-2 loss to St. Scholastica round out CC's 0-6 start. … Jake Peters leads the team with three singles wins — all at No. 6 — while Shota Oda owns two, and Cole Gillespie has one. … The Cobbers are still searching for the first win at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles, while going 3-3 at No. 6, 2-4 at No. 2, and 1-5 at No. 1. … Concordia is 0-18 in doubles through six matches this season
