  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals enter their final home game of the season against Gustavus on Sunday sitting at 2-2-1 overall. … Saint Mary's game at St. Catherine last Thursday was their fourth straight road contest. … The Cardinals' loss to St. Catherine on Thursday snapped their three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1). … Jordyn Matthews (Seattle, Wash.) has scored the Cardinals' last two goals — netting the game-winner five minutes into overtime in a 2-1 win over Concordia on April 17, before scoring the game-tying goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation in last Sunday's 1-1 tie at Saint Benedict. … All three of the Cardinals' games during their three-game unbeaten streak were decided by one goal or less. Along with the 2-1 win over Concordia and 1-1 tie vs. Saint Benedict, Saint Mary's also notched a 1-0 win over Augsburg on April 11. … Along with Matthews' two goals, Kassie Arriaga (Chula Vista, Calif.) and Mary Loy (Burien, Wash.) have also scored for the Cardinals this season. … Matthews has had a hand in three of the team's four goals this season — adding an assist to her two goals for a team-leading five points. … With her two goals and assist this season, Matthews — who led the team with 15 goals a year ago — has recorded 38 career points in her first 22 games as a Cardinal. … Emily Schaffer (Hampton, Minn.) picked up assists on both SMU goals against Concordia on April 17, giving the sophomore her first collegiate two-assist game. … Matthews leads the team in shots (13) and shots on goal (5). … Alexis Nguyen (West Corvina, Calif.) stopped all three shots she faced in the Cardinals' 1-0 win over Augsburg on April 18 en route to her first collegiate win and her first collegiate shutout. It was the second straight game in which Nguyen made three saves. Nguyen has started four of SMU's five games in goal, compiling a 1.46 goals-against-average and a .600 save percentage. She has stopped nine of the 15 shots she's faced. … Saint Mary's 1-0 win over Augsburg on April 11 snapped the Cardinals' 10-game losing streak against the Auggies. … The Cardinals' 1-0 win over Augsburg on April 11 was not only the Cardinals' first win of the season, but it was also Nick Rizzo's first win as SMU's head coach. … The Cardinals are coming off a 10-7-1 season in 2019 — marking the first time since 2007 that Saint Mary's has won 10 games in a season.
  GUSTAVUS GUSTIES WILDCATS SCOUTING REPORT
The Gusties arrive at Ochrymowycz Field boasting a 4-2-0 record, including back-to-back wins over Concordia (3-2) and Bethel (2-1) in their last two games. … Gustavus opened the season with wins over UM-Morris (4-1) and Augsburg (1-0), before dropping two straight to St. Thomas (5-0) and Saint Benedict (3-2). … Four of GAC's six games have been decided by one goal, including its 3-2 loss to Saint Benedict, which went into double overtime. … Katie Ashpole scored both of GAC's goals in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Bethel and currently leads the Gusties with three goals. … Taylor Hemme picked up her second and third assists of the season with a pair of helpers against BU Wednesday, and is currently tied with Ashpole for the team lead in points with seven. … Page Cocchiarella owns a team-best four assists. … Cocchiarella and Hemme have combined for seven of the team's 12 assists through six games. … Lauren Johnson leads the Gusties in both shots attempted (17) and shots on goal (14). … Ashpole, Hemme, Jordan Whalen, and Annika Lewis have netted the Gusties' four game-winning goals. … Gustavus has used three different goalkeepers this season — Abby Goodno (1.06 GAA, .850 save %), Leah Pavlish (2.50 GAA, .667 save %), and Justine Holm (3.00 GAA, .789 save %). … Goodno has played 255:43 minutes, followed by Pavlish (180:00) and Holm (120:09). … Goodno owns a team-leading 17 saves, two more than Holm and seven in front of Pavlish. … Gustavus has scored seven of its 12 goals in the second half, while GAC's opponents have netted eight of their 12 goals after the intermission.
