WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team bounced back from its 8-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss to Saint Benedict earlier in the day in a big way, rolling to a 9-0 nonconference over Bethany Lutheran Saturday evening at the Winona Tennis Center.

"The ladies put together a solid performance," said Saint Mary's women's tennis coach
Jeff Halberg. "It was a good bounce-back match for us,"

Saint Mary's flexed its muscles early, dropping just four games in the three doubles matches — including an 8-0 victory by
Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.)/
Kennedy Morgan (Green Bay, Wis.) at No. 1 and a forfeit win by Sarrianna Hofer (Wausau, Wis.)/
Peyton Buerman (Shawano, Wis.) at No. 3.

And the dominance continued in singles, where Saint Mary's lost just seven games, and picked up straight-set, 6-0, 6-0 wins by
Kailee Johnson (Rochester, Minn.), and Buerman, while
Ella Boomgaarden (St. James, Minn.) won via forfeit at No. 6.

The Cardinals (5-2 overall) are back in action on Monday, when they kick off their four-match spring trip to Orlando, Fla., with a nonconference match against Calvin.
