• FOR THE RECORD: The Cardinals head into their conference matchup against Concordia sitting at 7-5 overall, while still searching for their first MIAC win of the season.

• LAST TIME OUT: The Cardinals rallied from a 4-1 deficit, but came up short in the final match of the day at No. 2 singles, as St. Olaf dealt Saint Mary’s a 5-4 setback on March 11 in Owatonna, Minn.

• WINNING BIG: Four of SMU’s seven wins have been 9-0 sweeps, while the other three victories have been by 8-1 counts.

• LEADING THE CHARGE: Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.) heads into Sunday’s match against Concordia leading the Cardinals with nine dual-match singles wins — having won two straight and seven of her last 10. … Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.) and Ashley Renwick (Farmington, Minn.) are second to Becker with seven singles wins each. … Renwick is riding a six-match winning streak and has gone 8-2 in her last 10 singles matches.

• RACKING UP THE WINS: Becker closed out the 2021 season winning four of her last five matches to end the year with a team-high 11 singles wins, and now owns a 29-8 career singles record.

• SINGLED OUT: The Cardinals collected nine singles victories at last fall’s ITA Regional/Midwest Open, led by Renwick, Emily Henderson (Jordan, Minn.), and Peyton Buerman (Shawano, Wis.) with two each.

• COLLEGIATE FIRSTS: Buerman and Renwick picked up their first collegiate singles wins for the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team at the 2021 ITA Regional/Midwest Open on Sept. 24-25. Buerman outlasted Northwestern’s Taylar Smith 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 10-6 and Renwick followed suit with a marathon, 6-0, 3-6, 10-4 victory over Caroline Hutchinson of Wartburg. … The Cardinals had four athletes record their first collegiate singles wins in 2021 — Henderson, Peterson, Sarrianna Hoffer (Wausau, Wis.), and Maddie Dosser (South St. Paul, Minn.).

• GOING THE DISTANCE: Four of the six singles matches in SMU’s 8-1 loss to Saint Benedict on Feb. 26 were stretched to a third set, including a 1-6, 6-1, 10-2 win by Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.) at No. 1. The other two singles matches vs. the Blazers included a first-set tiebreaker.

• DOUBLING UP: The doubles team of Peterson/Kennedy Morgan (Green Bay, Wis.) owns the team lead with six doubles victories, one more than Maddie Dossser/Henderson. … Peterson/Morgan are 6-3 — all at No. 1 doubles — while Dosser/Henderson are 3-0 at No. 2 and 2-3 at No. 3. … SMU has used two doubles combinations at No. 1 and four at No. 3, while having five different pairs team up at No. 2.

• HOME SWEET HOME: The Cardinals, who played their first seven matches on their home court, boast a 5-2 record at home, while going 2-3 away from the Winona Tennis Center. … SMU has picked up nine of its last 12 wins at the Winona Tennis Center.

• BRING IN THE BROOMS: Saint Mary’s posted three straight 8-0 doubles wins in their 9-0 victory over Martin Luther on Jan. 29.

• NEAR-PERFECT: The Cardinals dropped just 11 games in its nonconference match against Bethany Lutheran on Feb. 26, posting 8-0 and 8-4 wins in doubles (plus a forfeit victory at No. 3), and adding a pair of 6-0, 6-0 sweeps by Kailee Johnson (Rochester, Minn.) and Peyton Buerman (Shawano, Wis.), while dropping just seven games in the other four singles contests.

• UNBEATABLE: The Cardinals remained unbeaten against Bethany Lutheran all time with their 9-0 win over the Vikings on Feb. 26. All nine Cardinal wins against the Vikings have been 9-0 sweeps.

• DOMINANCE: With their 9-0 win over Martin Luther on Jan. 29, the Cardinals ran their winning streak over the Knights to 16. SMU is 17-1 overall against MLC — and have won the last eight meetings between the two teams by 9-0 counts.

• PROGRAM FIRSTS: The Cardinals’ spring trip matches against Calvin, Houghton, Piedmont and Mount Vernon Nazarene were all the first meetings in program history.

• TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS: With their 2-2 showing in Orlando, Fla., the Cardinals improved to 73-22 against nonconference opponents since 2012.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Cobbers entered their weekend matches against St. Catherine and Saint Mary’s sitting at 4-6 overall, CC is still searching for its first conference win, having dropped its first four.

• LAST TIME OUT: Concordia picked up wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles in falling to NCAA Division II MSU-Moorhead at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D., on March 12.

• HOME SWEET HOME: Sunday’s match against Saint Mary’s is the second of five straight home matches for the Cobbers, who played eight of their first nine matches this season away from the home turf at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.

• STREAKING ALONG: It’s been a season of streaks through 10 games for the Cobbers, who dropped their first three matches of the year, rebounded by rattling off four straight wins, before dropping their last three.

• SINGLES LEADERS: Eric Borchard, Anna Hacker, and Mary Skorich all share the team lead with four singles victories. The trio have accounted for nine of the team’s 22 singles wins this season. … Borchard entered the weekend riding a team-leading four-match singles winning streak. … Concordia has used the same four players in the first four singles positions this season. Rachel Egge is 3-7 at No. 1, Emily Savageau is 1-9 at No. 2, and Hacker and Skorich are 4-6 at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

• DOUBLING UP: Taylor Partington and Abby Westrum have teamed to post a season-best five doubles wins this season, one more than the team of Savageau/Skorich. … CC has used two different doubles combinations at all three positions this season. The Cobbers are 2-8 at No. 1 doubles, 5-5 at No. 2, and 7-3 at No. 3.

• A YEAR AGO: Concordia closed out the 2021-22 season with a 3-8 overall record, including a 1-8 showing in conference play. CC dropped its last four matches of the season, all to conference foes — including a 7-2 loss to Saint Mary’s on April 18.
