It’s a busy conference weekend for the Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team, as the Cardinals welcome St. Scholastica to the Winona Tennis Center for a 1:30 p.m. Senior Day matchup on Saturday, before heading to InnerCity Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn., for an 11:30 a.m. showdown with Hamline the following day.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Cardinals head into their conference matches against St. Scholastica and Hamline sitting at 5-9 overall, while sporting an 0-4 mark in conference play.
• LAST ACTION: The Cardinals got a pair of three-set singles wins from Trevor Smiley (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Philip Appel (North Oaks, Minn.), but it was not enough, as Bethel dealt SMU a 7-2 conference setback on March 23 at the Winona Tennis Center.
• HOME COOKING: Saturday’s match against St. Scholastica is the second straight home match for the Cardinals, who play four of their final seven contests on their home courts. … SMU is 1-5 in its six home matches this season, while going 4-4 away from the Winona TC.
• IN THE FALL: Evan Huemoeller (Owatonna, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinals at the 2023 ITA Regional/Midwest Open last September, collecting a pair of singles wins en route to reaching the ITA consolation semifinals. … Philip Apel (North Oaks, Minn.), Michael Johnson (Hastings, Minn.), Brendon Raabolle (Andover, Minn.), and Zak Farley (Sartell, Minn.) all picked up one singles victory at the Midwest Open.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Saints head into their Saturday conference matchup against Saint Mary’s sporting an 8-7 overall record, while sitting at 5-1 through their first six MIAC contests.
• LAST TIME OUT: St. Scholastica rebounded from a spring trip-ending 7-0 loss to Eckard College in impressive fashion, sweeping the three doubles matches and splitting the six singles contests in collecting a 6-3 win over Saint John’s on March 23 in Virginia, Minn.
• ROAD WARRIORS: Saturday’s match at Saint Mary’s is the first of back-to-back road contests for the Saints, who will travel to Bethel next Saturday, before closing out the regular season playing two of their final three matches on their home courts. … St. Scholastica is a near-perfect 4-1 at home this season, while going 4-6 on the road.
• SINGLED OUT: Dane Patten has been the Saints’ singles leader, compiling a stellar 11-2 record. • SINGLED OUT: Keegan Terrone heads into the weekend owning a team-leading nine singles wins, one more than Elijah Krause, while Isaac Hultberg has collected eight singles wins, and Tyler Rousslang and Rumeal Setts each own seven singles victories. … Terrone is riding a season-high six-match singles winning streak.
