LAKE CITY, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's golf team is back in action Saturday and Sunday, as the Cardinals take part in the Division III Midwest Classic, hosted by Carleton College, at The Jewel Golf Club.

Cardinals' Last Action:
The Cardinals put together one of the best single-day and two-day performances in program history in placing 14th at the Wartburg Invitational last weekend in Waverly, Iowa.

Cardinals Last at Division III Midwest Classic:
Sept. 19-20, 2009: Katelyn Rizzi carded rounds of 85-82 for a two-day score of 167 to place 25th overall and lead the Cardinals to a 17th-place showing in the team standings.

Cardinals Up Next:
The Cardinals return to action next Saturday and Sunday, traveling to La Crosse, Wis., to take part in the Viterbo Invitational — the final tournament before the season-ending, three-day Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Cardinals' second-round team score of 349 Sunday at the Wartburg Invitational was the third-best 18-hole team score in program history. … SMU's 715 36-hole total was the second-best score in program history. … Lauren Ulbrich (Rochester, Minn.) shot a career-best round of 85 to finish at 175 (90-85) at the Wartburg Invitational. She was one of three Cardinals to post career-best scores during Sunday's second round. … Jenna Mrozinski (North St. Paul, Minn.) and Sarah Gustafson (Esko, Minn.) also notched 18-hole bests last Sunday, with Mrozinski carding an 86, while Gustafson posted an 88. … Rachel Lamberty (Farmington, Minn.) finished last weekend's tournament with a 176 total (86-90), while Mrozinski (99-86—185), Gia Puch (Des Plaines, Ill. / 90-95—185) and Gustafson (104-88—192) rounded out the Cardinals' top five. … Puch's opening-round 83 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Sept. 3 was just four strokes off her collegiate best round of 79, carding at the 2009 MIAC Championships.
