ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team has developed a bit of a pattern of late.

The Cardinals picked up their fourth win in their last seven matches Wednesday — and for the four straight time, that win as a 7-2 decision.

SMU won five of the six singles matches in straight sets, as the Cardinals cruised to that fourth straight 7-2 victory, this time dropping Hamline in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at the Hamline Courts.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition, as Bailey Edwards (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and sister McKennah Edwards posted an 8-3 victory at No. 1, while Abby Voigt (Burnsville, Minn.) and Grace Zachman () were 8-4 winners at No. 3.

Bailey and McKennah Edwards added singles wins at No. 1 and No. 2, while Voigt, Lindsey Reinisch (Hastings, Minn.) and Deanne Weber (Reedsburg, Wis.) also collected straight-set singles wins.

The Cardinals, who improve to 2-3 in the MIAC and 8-5 overall, are back in action this weekend, hosting Saint Benedict in a 2 p.m. conference match on Saturday and St. Thomas in a noon showdown on Sunday. Both matches will be played at the Winona Tennis Center.
