WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team made it look easy Saturday afternoon, as the Cardinals cruised to a 9-0 nonconference victory over Bethany Lutheran at the Winona Tennis Center.

"Very nice win for the ladies," said SMU coach Jeff Halberg. "Everyone played very well — it was a total team effort."

The Cardinals raced out to a 3-0 lead after the three doubles matches, then dropped just nine games in the six singles matches combined in completing the 9-0 sweep.

Katie Krull (Rochester, Minn.), Lindsey Reinisch (Hastings, Minn.), Leanne Cleveland (La Crosse, Wis.), Megan Vandenberg (De Pere, Wis.), Haley Jorgensen (Fallon, Neb.) and Stacey Buss (Chicago, Ill.) were all victorious in singles, while Reinisch-Vandenberg, Cleveland-Allie Serres (Cannon Falls, Minn.) and Grace Zachman (Elk River, Minn.)-Lindsay Almberg (Coon Rapids, Minn.) picked up wins in the doubles competition.

The Cardinals (2-2 overall) do not return to the court until Feb. 28, when they head to Mequon, Wis., for a 6 p.m. nonconference match against Concordia (Wis.).
