WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team takes on a pair of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes this weekend, traveling to Northfield, Minn., for a 4 p.m. match against St. Olaf on Saturday, before returning home to the Winona Tennis Center for 3:30 p.m. match against Gustavus on Sunday.

April 6, 2013: SMU coach Jeff Halberg knew that his Cardinals needed a bounce-back performance when they took the court against St. Olaf. And bounce back they did. The Cardinals, who dropped a disappointing 7-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision to Bethel earlier in the week, rebounded with a 7-2 win of their own, beating St. Olaf at the Winona Tennis Center.

SMU vs. Gustavus — Their Last Meeting:
February 16, 2013: Less than 24 hours after dropping a 7-2 decision to the 2012 MIAC regular-season runner-up Carleton at the Winona Tennis Center on Friday, the Cardinals squared off against the defending conference champion Gustavus — and the Gusties were anything but a gracious host. GAC swept all six singles matches in straight sets, while dropping just four games in sweeping the three doubles matches and handing SMU a 9-0 conference setback at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn.
