  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Friday's nonconference match against Northwestern will be the sixth home match of the season for the Cardinals, who are 4-2 at the Winona Tennis Center this season. … The Cardinals picked up their fourth win of the season with an 8-1 win over Hamline on March 19, before dropping back-to-back decisions to St. Olaf (5-4) and St. Thomas (8-1). … Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.) had her season- and career-high seven-match singles winning streak snapped with a loss at No. 3 singles against St. Thomas on March 21. … Becker is now 14-3 in singles play over the first two years of her collegiate career. Becker finished the pandemic-shortened 2020 season at 7-3. … Emily Henderson (Jordan, Minn.) also had her singles winning streak snapped against the Tommies. After dropping her first match of the season, Henderson had rattled off six straight wins. … Becker and Henderson have combined to record 13 of the team's 29 singles victories through eight matches. … Colleen Lois (Green Bay, Wis.) is currently third on the team with four singles wins. … Lois is the only Cardinal to play all eight matches at the same position, going 3-2 at No. 1 singles. … Sarrianna Hoffer (Wausau, Wis.) accounted for SMU's lone win against St. Thomas in their last match on March 21. Her straight-set win at No. 6 singles was the first of her collegiate career. … Henderson and Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.) recorded their first collegiate singles victories against Loras on March 6. … Henderson owns a team-best six doubles wins, one more than Maddie Dosser (South St. Paul, Minn.). … As a doubles team, Dosser and Henderson are a team-best 5-1. … With their 9-0 win over Wartburg on March 13, the Cardinals improved to 65-20 against nonconference opponents since 2012.
  NORTHWESTERN EAGLES SCOUTING REPORT
The Eagles enter Friday's nonconference match against Saint Mary's boasting a 4-3 overall record, including a 5-4 loss to Concordia in their most recent match on March 27. … Three of Northwestern's last four matches have been decided by a 5-4 score — the Eagles beat St. Norbert and UW-River Falls by 5-4 counts, while losing to Concordia 5-4. Northwestern also owns a 6-3 win over UW-Oshkosh and a 9-0 sweep of the University of Dubuque. On the flip side, UNW has dropped a pair of 6-3 decisions to go with its 5-4 loss to Concordia. … Taylar Smith has won all seven of her singles matches this season, with Belinda Weddle second on the team with five singles victories. … Smith and Weddle have combined to post 12 of the team's 23 singles victories through seven matches. … Mafee Rinta is the only Eagle to play all seven matches at the same position, going 1-6 at No. 1 singles. … Along with her perfect 7-0 singles record, Smith is also perfect in doubles play, going 7-0 — 3-0 when teamed with Weddle, 2-0 with Ellie Dodge, and 1-0 with Angel Beaufeaux and Jessica Gross. … Weddle is second to Smith with four doubles wins. … As a team, Northwestern is 23-20 in singles competition, and 12-9 in doubles.
