  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals head into the weekend's conference action against Augsburg and Bethel sitting at 3-7 in conference play as part of a 6-18 overall mark. … Saturday's showdown with the Auggies will mark the second time this season the two teams have met. Saint Mary's beat the Auggies 10-5 and 6-0 in a nonconference doubleheader on March 21. … Saint Mary's put an end to their season-high five-game losing streak with an 8-2, Game 2 win over Gustavus on April 17. … Amber Chow (West St. Paul, Minn.) went 3-for-4 with a run scored in SMU's 8-3, Game 2 loss to St. Catherine last Sunday. A day earlier, Chow struck out a career-high 10 batters in the Cardinals' 2-0 loss to Gustavus in the first game of their doubleheader. … Meyers recorded her first collegiate three-hit game in Game 2 against Gustavus on April 17, going 3-for-4. … Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill.) and Erin Sullivan (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) each hit home runs for the Cardinals in the second game against Gustavus — Sutor's a solo shot, while Sullivan's was a three-run blast. … Sutor has now hit two lead-off home runs this season, having blasted her first collegiate round-tripper against Hamline on April 10. … Meyers is hitting a team-leading .352, while Chow is also hitting above .300, sitting at .339. … Justine Schultz (Winona, Minn.) has scored a team-best 12 runs, while sharing the team lead in hits (20) with Chow. … Chow also leads the Cardinals in doubles (6), RBIs (13), total bases (26), slugging percentage (.441), and on-base percentage (.435). … Paige Gudmundson (Plainview, Minn.) leads the team with seven stolen bases, two more than Schultz and Meyers. … Chow has posted a team-high seven multiple-hit games — including a pair of three-hit performances — and owns a team-best five multiple-RBI games. … Schultz and Sullivan each put together team-high five-game hitting streaks this season, but Sullivan's three-game run is the longest active hitting streak. … Mackenzie Carey (Prescott, Wis.) was perfect from the plate in the opener against Augsburg on March 21, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. It was Carey's first four-hit game of her collegiate career. … Chow (5-9, 4.63 ERA) leads the Cardinal pitching staff in innings pitched (78.2), appearances (19), starts (12) and strikeouts (47). Chow has thrown all seven of the Cardinals' complete games this season. … Sutor (1-6, 7.89 ERA) has thrown 47.0 innings in 15 appearances and has struck out 25. … Saint Mary's scored half of its 16 runs against Hamline on April 10 in the fourth inning — plating four fourth-inning runs in each game. … Saint Mary's has scored first in four of its six wins, but the Cardinals are just 2-15 when their opponent scores the game's first run. … The Cardinals' 10 runs in their Game 1 win over Augsburg on March 21 marked the second time this season SMU has scored in double figures. The Auggies enter the weekend sitting at 4-22 overall, including 1-13 in conference play. … Augsburg has dropped five straight, including the last four by shutout. … The Auggies have been outscored 52-6 during their current five-game slide, and 43-0 in their last four contests, back-to-back conference sweeps by St. Thomas and Saint Benedict. … Augsburg managed just two hits in Wednesday's 15-0, 10-0 loss to Saint Benedict, including being no-hit by CSB pitcher Elly Novak in the opener. … Katie Manecke and Sabriva Passmore have been the offensive leaders for the Auggies this season. Manecke leads the team with a .353 batting average, with Passmore close behind at .325. … Passmore owns a team-best 25 hits, one more than Manecke, and is tops on the squad in triples (4), RBIs (9), total bases (35), and slugging percentage (.455). … Manecke holds the team lead in runs (15), on-base percentage (.450), and stolen bases (6). … Olivia Dynneson and Mackenzie Evenson own the Auggies' two home runs this season. … Passmore and Manecke have each recorded six multiple-hit games, and Passmore and Olivia O'Connor share the team lead in multiple-RBI contests with three each. … Augsburg boasts three pitchers who have logged more than 35 innings this season, led by O'Connor (1-10, 6.17 ERA) and Passmore (2-11, 7.78 ERA) with 64.2 and 56.2 innings, respectively. … O'Connor has made a team-leading 14 appearances and has tossed six complete games, while Passmore leads the pitching staff with 13 starts and a chipped in 11 complete games. … As a team, Augsburg has been outscored 185-61 through 26 games — including 31-2 in the second inning, 31-6 in the third, and 39-4 in the fourth. … Augsburg has allowed six or more runs in 16 of its 22 losses and has been shut out nine times. … The Auggies are 1-19 when their opponent scores first, and 0-8 when their opponent scores in the first inning.
  BETHEL ROYALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Royals head into their weekend games against Hamline and Saint Mary's owning a 17-7 overall record, while sitting at 10-4 in conference play. … After dropping both games of a conference doubleheader against St. Olaf last Sunday (4-3, 1-0), the Royals rebounded with back-to-back victories over Concordia on Wednesday, dropping the Cobbers 4-0 and 9-5. … BU pitcher Kayla Simacek set a single-game program record Wednesday, striking out 15 CC batters in BU's 4-0 Game 1 win. The 15 strikeouts breaks the old mark of 14, initially held by Charity Rowden on April 6, 2007, and equaled by Simacek earlier this year against Gustavus. … Simacek has been the workhorse of the six-person BU pitching staff, logging 86.0 innings. The sophomore boasts a 10-4 record and 1.47 ERA in 16 appearances. She has tossed 12 complete games, seven shutouts, and owns 130 strikeouts. … Calli Maki (4-3, 4.26 ERA) has also seen plenty of time in the pitcher's circle, tossing 46.0 innings in nine appearances. … Offensively, the Royals are hitting .321 as a team, led by Amanda Gemuenden (.427), Allie Fauth (.380), and Maki (.371). The trio have all scored 20 or more runs, and delivered 20 or more hits through 24 games. … Thirteen of Maki's 23 hits have been for extra bases — seven doubles, three triples, and three home runs — giving her a team-best .726 slugging percentage. … Gemuenden has driven in a team-leading 28 runs, while Maki and Hokanson have each hit three of BU's 12 home runs. … Bethel has scored 10 or more runs six times this season — including a season-high 15-run performance in beating Edgewood 15-7 on March 6. … Four of Bethel's seven losses this season have been by one run.
