• 1: Owen Ziegler (Mount Horeb, Wis.) went 3-for-5 from the 3-point line in the Cardinal men’s basketball team’s 75-67 win over Augsburg last Wednesday, moving the junior into the No. 1 spot all-time in 3-pointers in a season. Ziegler surpassed Donald Jordan’s mark of 71 during the 1994-95 season and heads into the final week of the regular-season with 74 3-pointers this season.
• 1: Laudon Poellinger (La Crescent, Minn.) scored the SMU men’s hockey team’s lone goal in last Saturday’s 4-1 loss to league-leading St. Scholastica. The goal was Poellinger’s fifth of the season, and gives him a team-leading 16 points.
• 2: The Cardinals swept the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors last Monday, as Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) of the men’s basketball team and Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) of the women’s basketball team landed the conference’s weekly honors.
• 2-0 x 2: Brendon Raabolle (Andover, Minn.) and Caden Rodning (Mason City, Iowa) each picked up singles and doubles wins in leading the Cardinal men’s tennis team to a 6-3 win over the University of Dubuque last Saturday.
• 3: Brady Lindauer (Cary, Ill.) recorded his first collegiate hat trick, scoring three unanswered goals in breaking a 4-4 tie and leading the Cardinals to a 7-4 win over league-leading St. Scholastica last Friday.
• 3 x 3: Granton Schneider (Moorhead, Minn.), Aiden Gatz (Elburn, Ill.), and Caroline Gearin (Osceola, Wis.) all recorded third-place finishes to pace the Cardinal track and field teams last weekend. Schneider stopped the click in 4:39.87 to finish third in the mile at the Minnesota State-Mankato Mayhem last Friday, while Gearin raced to a third in the 400 (1:03.08) and Gatz cleared 4.34 meters for third in the pole vault at the Ripon Dick Hendricks Invitational the following day.
• 4: The SMU women’s basketball team put four players in double figures in last Wednesday’s 71-63 win over Augsburg. Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) scored a team-high 19 points, while Ashley Streveler (Colby, Wis.) and Cruze each chipped in 12 points, and Grace Schaffer (Farmington, Minn.) added 10. It marked the third time this season the Cardinals boasted four double-figure scorers in the same game.
• 4: Allie Urlaub (Burnsville, Minn.) scored a goal and recorded three assists in the Cardinal women’s hockey team’s 5-1 win over St. Scholastica last Saturday. The three assists and four points were both career-highs for Urlaub.
• 4-0: The Cardinal men’s tennis team picked up its fourth win in its first five contests this year last Saturday, knocking off the University of Dubuque 6-3 at the Winona Tennis Center.
• 5: The Cardinal men’s hockey team’s 7-4 win and 4-1 loss against St. Scholastica last weekend marked the fifth time in the last six weekends that SMU has split its MIAC series. Saint Mary’s also split against Saint John’s, Bethel, Hamline and St. Olaf, while sweeping Gustavus and falling twice to Augsburg.
• 6-0, 6-0: Ashley Renwick (Farmington, Minn.), Peyton Buerman (Shawano, Wis.), and Ella Boomgaarden (St. Peter, Minn.) all delivered 6-0, 6-0 singles wins in the Cardinal wone’s tennis team’s 9-0 nonconference win over the University of Dubuque last Saturday,
• 7 x 2: The Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team scored seven goals for the second game in a row last Friday, knocking off league-leading St. Scholastica 7-4. The seven-goal outburst came on the heels of a 7-3 win over Saint John’s six days earlier.
• 8: The Saint Mary’s men’s and women’s basketball teams both collected eight-point victories over Augsburg last Wednesday. The Cardinal men cruised to a 75-67 win, while the SMU women dealt the Auggies a 71-63 setback.
• 9-0 x 2: The Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team collected its second straight 9-0 win to open the season last Saturday, sweeping past the University of Dubuque. SMU beat Martin Luther 9-0 in its season-opener on Jan. 28.
• 10: Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) recorded his 10th double-double of the season in the SMU men’s basketball team’s 75-67 win over Augsburg last Wednesday, scoring 26 points and adding 10 rebounds.
• 14, 10: Ashley Streveler (Colby, Wis.) scored a team-high 14 points and Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) hauled in a team-best 10 rebounds in the Cardinal women’s basketball team’s 52-41 loss to Saint Benedict last Saturday.
• 17: Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) scored a team-high 17 points in the Cardinal men’s basketball team’s 90-58 loss at Saint John’s last Saturday. Anthony has scored in double figures in all 23 games this season, and 60 times in his four-year collegiate career.
• 105: When Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) took the court for the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team against Saint Benedict last Saturday, the Cardinal senior made her 105th consecutive start ranking her No. 1 all-time.
