• 1: Jada Allen (Eau Claire, Wis.) belted her first collegiate home run in the fastpitch softball team’s 10-8, eight-inning loss to Alma last Tuesday.
• 1: Eric Charest (Blaine, Minn.) collected his first collegiate pitching win in the Cardinal baseball team’s 8-2 victory over Calvin last Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits, while walking two and striking out one in five innings of work.
• 1: Riley Bauman (Stratford, Wis.) launched his first collegiate home run in the SMU baseball’s first game of the season, lacing a lead-off round-tripper in the second inning of the Cardinals’ 3-2 loss to Franklin on Feb. 26.
• 1 + 1 + 1: Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.) and Ashley Renwick (Farmington, Minn.) had a hand in all three of the SMU women’s tennis teams victories in last Monday’s 6-3, spring trip-opening loss to Calvin. Becker and Renwick collected singles wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while also teaming for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
• 2-1 x 2: Both the SMU men’s and women’s tennis teams closed out their spring trips with 2-1 record. Both fell to Calvin, before rebounding with back-to-back wins over Adrian and Albion.
• 3: The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team had three players receive MIAC post-season honors last week. Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year, as well as All-MIAC, while Owen Ziegler (Mount Horeb, Wis.) joined him on the All-MIAC team, and Breyton Buysman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was selected to the MIAC All-Playoff Team.
• 3: The Saint Mary’s baseball team boasted three players who hit above .300 in the Cardinals eight games in Auburndale, Fla., last week. Riley Bauman (Stratford, Wis.) led the way with a .379 batting average, followed by Cameron Weber (Holmen, Wis.) at .347 and Mason Coyle (Madison, Wis.) at .333.
• 3 + 3: Allison Ciero (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Riley Hall (Dallas Center, Iowa) each scored three runs, combing for six of the SMU fastpitch softball team’s eight runs in last Monday’s 8-3 win over Houghton.
• 4-0: E.J. Hietala (Duluth, Minn.) and Josh Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) were a perfect 4-0 in the SMU men’s tennis team’s wins over Albion and Adrian last Tuesday. The duo both collected singles wins in each of the two matches, while also teaming for victories at No. 2 doubles in both contests.
• 4 + 2: Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) earned MIAC women’s basketball post-season honors for the fourth consecutive year, being selected All-MIAC for the second straight year to go along with two honorable-mention All-MIAC honors. Izzy Goettelman (Winona, Minn.), meanwhile, picked up her second straight honorable-mention selection
• 7: The Cardinal women’s tennis team dropped just seven games in their six singles matches in last Thursday’s 8-1 win over Albion — led by Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.) and Peyton Buerman (Shawano, Wis.), who each won 6-0, 6-0.
• 9: Addison Hochevar (Lake Geneva, Wis.) matched his career-high with nine strikeouts in the Cardinal baseball team’s 1-0, Game 2 loss to Franklin last Sunday. It was the third time in his collegiate career that Hochevar has fanned nine batters.
• 10: Naleya Bork (De Pere, Wis.) struck out a career-high 10 batters in the SMU fastpitch softball team’s 8-3 win over Houghton last Sunday.
• 16: The SMU fastpitch softball team belted 16 extra-base hits in its eight-game spring trip to Winter Haven, Fla. — including home runs by Jada Allen (Eau Claire, Wis.), Heather Nordlund (Byron, Minn.), Naleya Bork (De Pere, Wis.), and Abbie Stigler (Menomonie, Wis.).
• 23-25: The SMU baseball team stole 23 bases on 25 attempts in eight games last week, led by Cameron Weber (Holmen, Wis.), who was 5-for-5, and Riley Bauman (Stratford, Wis.), who was 4-for-4.
• .301: The Cardinal fastpitch softball team hit .301 in its eight-game stay in Winter Haven, Fla., last week, going 66-for-219. Heather Nordlund (Byron, Minn.) led the SMU offensive attach, hitting .500 (10-for-20).
