WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's soccer team closes out its 2010 season at home on Saturday, as the Cardinals bid farewell to their three graduating seniors with a 7 p.m. conference game against St. Thomas at Ochrymowycz Field

The Cardinals gave up a pair of second-half goals in falling to Augsburg 2-0 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game in Minneapolis, Minn., Tuesday. St. Thomas, meanwhile, has been off since Oct. 22, when the Tommies came out on the short end of a 4-3 conference decision against Macalester in St. Paul, Minn.

Tonight's game is the final collegiate contest for Cardinal seniors Steve Boussie (Troy, Mich.), Ryan Rademacher (La Crosse, Wis.) and Andy Adair (Woodbury, Minn.). … Today's game vs. the Tommies is the sixth straight Saturday home game for the Cardinals. … With a start tonight in his collegiate finale, Boussie will have started every game of his four year SMU career, a school-record 72 straight starts. … SMU's 1-0 loss to Saint John's last Saturday was the ninth game this season decided by one goal or less. It was also the sixth 1-0 decision of the season for SMU. … Chris Williams (Chicago, Ill.) finished with eight saves against Augsburg Tuesday, giving the Cardinal junior 76 saves for the season. Williams enters tonight with a 1.96 goals-against-average and a .768 save percentage. … SMU enters today's game vs. St. Thomas looking to break out of its offensive funk. The Cardinals have been held scoreless for five straight games, dating back to a Patrick Moore (Woodbury, Minn.) goal against Upper Iowa on Oct. 6. … Juamaine Venter (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Cardinals in goals (5) and points (12). UST held a 3-0 second-half lead against Macalester on Oct. 22, only to give up three straight goals — including two in the final three minutes — to force overtime. Macalester then scored the game-winner 30 seconds into the OT. … UST's 4-3 loss to Macalester on Oct. 22 was the Tommies third overtime game this season — St. Thomas is 0-3 in those three OT games. … Six of St. Thomas' eight losses have been by one goal. … The Tommies went 2-0-2 in a four-game stretch at mid-season — capped by a 0-0 tie with No. 6-ranked UW-Whitewater. Since then, however, they are 0-4-1 and headed for a rare losing season. … Eight Tommies will be playing their final collegiate game tonight, including Academic All-American Elliot Amundson and two-time All-MIAC defender Reid Moser-Bleil. … Freshman Nick Rapisarda leads the team in goals (5) and points, while Mike Hutton is second in both categories with four goals and 10 points. … Josh Pozner is the team's leader in assists with four. … Macalester's four goals were the most allowed by the Tommies all season. On the flip side, UST's three goals scored were the second-most this season. The Tommies netted a season-best five goals in a 5-2 win over Presentation on Sept. 10.
