LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team, coming off an impressive 7-0 nonconference victory over Lakeland on Sunday, hits the road on Wednesday, traveling to UW-La Crosse for a 7 p.m. nonconference game against the Eagles.

The Cardinals two goals each from Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.) and Amanda Rahman (Rochester, Minn.), as SMU cruised to a 7-0 nonconference victory over Lakeland Sunday evening at Ochrymowycz Field. UW-La Crosse, meanwhile, pushed its season-opening winning streak to two straight with a 1-0 home win over St. Catherine on Saturday.

The Cardinals and Eagles have not met since the second game of the 2004 season, when UW-L came away with a 2-0 victory in La Crosse, Wis.

Sunday's win over Lakeland marked the second straight 7-0 victory for the Cardinals, who also routed Ripon 7-0 on Saturday. … Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.), coming off the second four-goal game of her career on Saturday, netted two more goals on Sunday against Lakeland, giving the SMU senior six goals this season — and 40 for her career. … Sibik's 40 career goals rank No. 5 all-time, 14 goals back of No. 4 Kerry Ambrose's 54. … Along with her team-leading six goals, Sibik also boasts a team-best 14 points, giving her 90 points for her career. She is just seven points back of Barb Bock for No. 7 all-time in career points. … Amanda Rahman (Rochester, Minn.) recorded her first collegiate two-goal game vs. Lakeland Sunday. … After scoring four goals in her first three collegiate seasons, Rahman already has three goals this season. … Rahman and Tessa Scanlon (Cologne, Minn.) share the team lead in assists with three each. … Cassie Hulett (Milwaukee, Wis.) picked up her second straight one-save shutout Sunday vs. Lakeland. The junior goalkeeper recorded her first collegiate shutout with Saturday's one-save effort vs. Ripon. …  SMU's seven goals vs. Lakeland and Ripon are the most since the Cardinals netted nine in a 9-0 win over Presentation in 2008. … Eight of SMU's last 11 wins have come on its home field. … Sunday's win was the eighth in the Cardinals' last 10 nonconference games. SMU is now 36-4-1 in their last 41 games vs. non-MIAC foes and 36-7-2 in nonconference play since the start of the 2004 season.
