ORLANDO, Fla. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team kicks off its week-long spring trip to Orlando, Fla., with an 8:30 a.m. match against Ursinus on Monday. The Cardinals will also face King's, Berry and Morningside this week.

Sam Puff (Eden Prairie, Minn.), meanwhile, pushed his singles win streak to eight in a row with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles. The trio's efforts, however, were not enough, as the Cardinals' four-match winning streak came to an end with a

The spring trip to Orlando, Fla., will be the first action of the spring for the Bears, who picked up a pair of wins over York and Lebanon Valley — while also competing in the Centennial Conference Invitational and the ITA Southeast Regional Championships — during the fall portion of their schedule. Ursinus beat York 7-1, then blanked Lebanon Valley 9-0. … Ursinus tied a school record with 12 wins a year ago, closing out 2012 with a 12-10 overall record. … The Bears return their entire lineup from last year's 12-10 team. … Dylan Marsh — who finished 7-6 in singles play last season — had a perfect fall for the Bears, going 6-0, including wins at No. 3 singles against both York and Lebanon Valley. … Tyler Arsenault heads into Ursinus' spring trip carrying a 5-1 singles record. … Evan Stutchin broke a 22-year drought by becoming the first Ursinus player to win a match in the main draw of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship since 1990. Berry, coming off a 5-9 2012 season, is in its fourth and final year of NCAA DIII provisional membership. The Vikings are eligible for SAA championships this year, and NCAA championships beginning in 2013-14. … In the Vikings' season-opening 9-0 win over Covenant, they lost just two games in doubles, and only five in the six singles matches. … Austin Miller (No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles) and Jake Pullen (No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles) did not lose a game against Covenant. … Ben Ortman played for the Berry men's soccer team, which won the 2012 SAA Championship. He played in 18 of 19 games and had three goals for the Vikings. … Logan Yerbey went 8-6 with Jonathan Surls at No. 1 doubles last year, which was the only winning record for the 5-10 BC team. … Ortman is the lone player remaining from the 2011 team. That club started the year 5-0 and finished 10-8.
