ST. PETER, Minn. —
Katie Krull (Rochester, Minn.) and Megan Vandenberg (De Pere, Wis.) continued their winning ways during the doubles competition at the Gustavus Fall Invitational Saturday afternoon — without even lifting their rackets.
The Cardinal duo, which opened tournament play with 8-5 and 8-3 wins on Saturday, collected a default win over St. Olaf's Erin Hynes-Mary Eide to reach the tournament's fourth round.
That, however, would be the end of their run, as Carleton's Julia Krumholz/Joyce Yu eliminated the SMU pair 8-4.
Krull also dropped her consolation singles match in the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, falling to Carthage's Haleigh McPeek 6-0, 6-2.
The Cardinals kick off their 2014 spring season on Feb. 1, when they host Carleton in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at the Winona Tennis Center.
